Even though this is a small building, I don't care. The food here is REALLY good, I got a steak burrito and I practically ascended. Not to mention their sauces are good too. I don't know how they do it so perfectly, but they do, and their flour tortilla tacos are great as well. No complaints here at all.
Never seen the deep fried flour tortilla tacos, so I tried the corn instead. Unfortunately the corn is a hard shell Ala old el Paso, disappointing. However, the steak filling was very flavorful.
Visited on a strong recommendation, and our neighbor was right! Walked into a packed restaurant on a weekend, and the staff managed it well. Plenty of parking. Tasty, cheap-eats food with lots of Des Moines-area history. Corn & flour tacos, other Mexican food options. Enjoyed a pair of original tacos with ground beef. No frills. Fantastic service, clean.
