Great little spot in the middle of nowhere. Very inviting friendly atmosphere. Basic menu with burgers and steaks. Prime rib on weekends. Great place to meet friends for a reasonable meal and some cocktails.

If you’re ever in small-town Iowa (or anywhere in the Midwest, honestly), this little gem is an absolute must-visit. The prime rib here isn’t just good—it’s hands down the best I’ve ever had, perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and packed with flavor that rivals (and beats) any big-city steakhouse. You can tell they take pride in what they serve.

But what really sets this place apart is the people. The staff is incredibly friendly and personable—you feel more like a welcome guest than just another customer. They remember faces, share a laugh, and make the whole dining experience warm and genuine, just like you’d hope from a true small-town restaurant.

Between the unbeatable prime rib and the kind, down-to-earth atmosphere, this spot is the definition of a Midwest treasure. Worth the drive, worth the wait, and absolutely worth every bite.

The food was ok. I just was expecting more of a variety. The place was hyped up more than what it panned out to be. Prices were more than I had expected for the steak and prime rib.

Service very slow and inexperienced....had one whole meal left out of our order had to wait for them to make persons food while everyone else was finishing eating. Need to desperately change the fryer grease! Everything tasted like the Friday walleye special!

We love eating at Roadside. The food is always served hot and made the way you want. Tonight I had the Roadside burger but without BBQ sauce. Their burgers are the best around but I also like the Philly cheeseteak, Cod dinner or chicken strip dinner. Its definitely worth the country drive to Arispe.

Food posted on Facebook looked great, so we went there Sat evening (July 6, 2024), arrived at 6:45 PM and still hadn't received our food at 9:00 PM. During our two hour wait the staff checked on us several times but at 9:00 PM I finally ask for our drink check. We were given an "insincere" apology stating that the kitchen was backed up with orders. So we drove back home (Osceola) and had a sandwich. After an hour on the road, two hours waiting for our food, an insincere apology, and our Sat date night ruined, we probably won't return.

The food was amazing. Very good chicken gizzards and pickle chips! The service wasn't the best, though. Although it wasn't the bar tenders falt because there were a lot of people in their to eat and they only had one person working the bar and waiting tables so it really wasn't her fault. Overall, it was a good experience.
