This is truly a hidden gem. The food is some of the best in Iowa. Portions are great and the flavor even better. If you love Prime Rib, this is the place to go. It is flavorful and tender. I want to order dessert but always too full to try. Lastly, the staff is very courteous and attentive to your needs. Make sure you call and get reservations. Everytime we go, the place is full. You won't be sorry.

Valerie's is a great gem of a restaurant. Just 7 miles South of Interstate 80 in Lynnville Iowa. If you are driving on I80 and are looking for a place to get a really good HOMEMADE meal this is it. If you live in the area why haven't you tried the flavorful specials (which are definitely upscale) or the regular menu which has something for everyone (even kids). The homemade desserts are a great way to finish off your meal and generous enough to split. We have only had great service and excellent food at Valarie's.

Mushroom and Swiss burger with bacon. Probably the best burger inside the "walls" of sun city west. Burger and side with a coke 15 bucks tip included. Carrie's is more known for their breakfasts, as is the place across the street, but also has decent sandwiches and burgers as well. I haven't had any of their dinner entrees yet but will post when I do. Had the blt in the past and for something so simple it's surprising that this is one of the only places in the area that can pull it off. Staff is friendly and the place is always clean! Carrie's is a hidden gem "inside the walls".

Very good truck stop food. Within our group we had the tenderloin, the Reuben, the broasted chicken and the Cornstalk hash (breakfast item). The tenderloin, Reuben and chicken were very good. The service was very friendly and timely. This restaurant is exactly what it should be and says it is. A truck stop off the interstate with very good truck stop food.

Came in here a few weeks ago to take my 10 hr break and liked what I saw. This time I decided to have breakfast. Wasn't too sure but by the time I left, I knew I'd be coming in here more often. Ordered the Veggie Omelet with sourdough toast. It covered the plate with my hash browns. The coffee was good, the food was good, the waitress was friendly and I was served promptly. This being a small mom and pop place makes it nicer than the huge chains (Loves). I'll definitely be staying here when I'm in the area. Came back again today 8-23-19 and it was just as good as before. Awesome service, delicious food and free WiFi all you have to do is ask. Definitely recommend!!!

So nice place and staff. Always enjoyed to have breakfast here! Very recommend for anyone, plus you can enjoy mimosa or glass if wine or a beer.

Very Honest cashier! Left the money and accidentally had 2 $20 bills, the cashier ran out and gave back a $20. You don't see that much nowadays! The waitress and busboy were very friendly. I was very pleased with the breakfast that I ordered.

My friend and I have been going to breakfast at Carrie's Cafe once a week for a couple of years. We have found the staff to be very personable and efficient. They know what we like and a number of times have had our coffee on the table as we came through the door. If you like a hometown feel and a good breakfast at a fare price I would recommend Carries.

If you follow my reviews you would know how much I love breakfast places and how not picky I am when it comes to my breakfast food. However, my trip to Carrie's was made special not by the food, but was made excellent by the charismatic young man who sat us and got us our drinks. The food was so-so and not the best around town, but the servers and staff made it worth it.

I saw an ad for Carrie's Cafe and the nightly specials. Sounded good and the reviews were ok, so we decided to try it for dinner. The cafe is clean and has a diner feel. It took awhile before our server greeted us and when she did, it was a fly by take the order, plus she wasn't familiar with what the special exactly was. Didn't get dinner rolls or a beverage refill. She didn't serve the meal and never checked back to see how it was or if needed anything else. Maybe she was new. Our food was good, a club sandwich/fries and pork roast dinner. Will give it a try again for breakfast sometime or the fish fry.

Kind of sad, to be honest. As a business traveller, I eat at the hotel many mornings. Today I have an afternoon flight so had time for breakfast. Excited. Breakfast is my favorite! Searched Yelp and settled on this place. Plus: the cafe is comfortable. The staff was friendly. My coffee cup was never below half. The prices were fair. The food came quickly. Minus: I had hoped for more choices. The food was just so so. Nothing special. I almost felt like Denny's in my hotel parking lot might have been a better choice.

I got invited to breakfast at Carrie's the other day. I always wanted to try it but I didn't want to go by myself. I had a great breakfast. I order the special and I was happy. I been going back and trying other breakfast items. All been good and the service is great too.

A local cafe with fare much like a Denny's, but the atmosphere more like home if I could get waited on. We've never been less than very satisfied with the food quality and portions, the service has always been exceptional. Diego keeps the beverages filled and brings a warm smile as he checks on guests. He's a real plus to the staff and overall feeling of being truly an important part of the family.
