Wife ordered the gyro and fries and in return got some of the worst food poisoning we've ever seen to the point of needing to go to the ER

Let me start off by saying we were referred here by family members who are local. They raved about the food, specifically the gyro and the tenderloin. We ordered the tenderloin, traditional gyro, poutine, fish and chips and Italian beef. 5 STARS for the food!! It took about 30 minutes but seeing how busy they were, we were unbothered. Everything was hot and delicious! The service was a completely different story. We felt like our server Sarah was annoyed that we came in to dine. We witnessed multiple tables being treated the same way. We also felt rushed, as if the front of house wanted to turn tables as fast as possible, 3 starts for atmosphere simply because of the beautiful lake front location. If you want a delicious meal from boardwalk bar and grille, ORDER IT TO GO!!!

The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. Most places act like your an inconvenience when you show up to eat, but not Boardwalk! Everyone was positive and hospitable – which, by the way, was a refreshing experience after coming from Maxwells – we appreciate the service!

We went to boardwalk for my bffs 21st birthday. We were welcomed by the most friendly staff!! They made our night the best!! Thank you Dani, Sophia, Kenley, and Adrian. Amazing food and service!!
Cold, rainy day in the park rescued in part by the excellent lake view and fantastic food. It is a little pricey, but it is summer and lake side on West Okoboji...so not outragous.
Poutine that represents Canada very well. Gravy was perfect in flavor and amount: every fry had cheese and gravy and had enough body to carry both well.
The classic fry basket with bacon and cheese was above average because the bacon was fresh fried and chopped, not the typical mostly fat, little meat, out of a bag stuff. And there is plenty of it on a big fry pile.
Crab dip, we did warm, was decident to the point I felt a little underdressed. The pita chips with it were flavorful (a little butter before they were warmed, maybe) and added to the yum-factor. The secret surprise: cold leftovers were tasty too...and it warms up in about 20 seconds.
Funny staff was busy with a lot of rained out folks. It's a bar. However, during out lunchtime visit on a rainy day, the staff really kept is friendly for families without ruining the things for the adults mourning the whitecaps keeping them off West Okoboji.

First time there was amazing food and service!
I could eat here every single day and not get tired of it, foods always amazing and for being right by the water and in the middle of the park, the prices are so reasonable. My favorite spot to eat at 😀
BEST BREADED AND POUNDED-OUT PORK TENDERLOIN SANDWICH IN SIOUXLAND. HUMONGOUS! GREAT QUALITY PORK. MY 30-YEAR SEARCH FOR A DECENT TENDERLOIN IN NW IOWA IS OVER, FINALLY!
My guests LOVED their sandwiches, too. GREAT PRICES. Coke on tap was excellent. Guests loved their drinks. Italian beef sandwich recommended as well.

My wife and I sat at a table, they were 1/2 full. We Ordered a cocktail and then food. They brought out my pork tenderloin and it looked like (and tasted) the soul of a shoe. I took two bites and I nicely told them it looked and tasted like the soul of a shoe and they took my order back and they took the money. We got up and left with no apology from their staff or anyone. No comp, no refund, nothing. Will Not go back or recommend. Oh, and it’s wthe same owners of both places.

Boardwalk is one of our Boji favorites…so we always take friends who are visiting to enjoy the lake views and a meal. Our last crew was from Boston and are Italian-Americans. They were so impressed with the Chicken Parm sandwich! They liked the uniqueness of how the sandwich is stacked and thought it was so warm and gooey! We also have tried your Saturday Breakfasts during our farmer’s market visits-and they are AMAZING too! Thank you Boardwalk for always providing good food via your awesome staff!
To be honest with you, I try to explore the menu of restaurants I have been to a number of different times, but apparently when I visit the Boji Boardwalk Bar & Grill, I seem to be on a fish and chips kick. These photos are taken 11 months apart and the only difference is yesterday I ordered it with sweet potato fries. However, I will say that the fish is very good. It's hand battered, very crispy, not overly breaded, the fish is fresh tasting and flaky. I really enjoyed the sweet potato fries this time around and for a dollar extra, I would say it's worth it. If I didn't mind making a mess of myself, I would DEFINITELY order their Italian beef or one of their gyros because they sound amazing. If I had an extra stomach or was splitting with someone, I might even opt for their pork tenderloin because it is HUGE. So, depending on your appetite and your willingness to get a little messy I would definitely recommend checking those out. The staff is very friendly and the overall atmosphere and vibe is relaxed. There are plenty of TVs to watch the game or take in the views out of their garage door that opens directly onto the Arnold's Park boardwalk and their outdoor seating where you can take in the views provided in the second picture. This is taken from my seat where I was having dinner. Talk about a perfect view or spot to grab a beer and people watch. In this strip of stores/restaurants, you are right in the heart of the action with the amusement park behind you, shops on either side of you, you're even in earshot of the outdoor concerts, and looking directly at where they shoot off fireworks every weekend in the summer. The prices are certainly affordable for the amount of food you're getting - especially for Okoboji. Cheers!
Parking: Parking is a little bit of a challenge in that it is not right in front of the venue. It is approximately a block away. There is a large parking lot that accommodates the entire amusement park. There is a cul-de-sac road that goes all the way down to the water and the pier where individuals can be dropped off, right near the restaurant. Handicap spaces are a little ways away and are near the Maritime Museum.
Wheelchair accessibility: The seating in the restaurant is a little tight, but everyone was very accommodating to make space so that I could get to my table/seat. I believe that all of the seating on the patio area are high tops so it may be difficult for those with mobility devices or an inability to get to taller seats.

The Italian beef is easily the best sandwich in Boji. Great fries too!
Gyros were awesome.
