We ate lunch today. I had the half rack ribs. All 4 sauces were hand made and very good. Ribs were smoked with real wood on site and were perfectly cooked. Service was great. The owner even let us take a look at his smoking set up. Great guy and very passionate about his good and it shows. If you’re in the area stop by. Clean and nice place. I really didn’t expect the smoked meats to be as good as they were.

We will definitely be back! Our whole table enjoyed the made-to-order Ribeye special. The food was delicious, with made-from-scratch sides and desserts that tasted like home. Everything was prepared with love and served with a genuine smile. The owners were hands-on and clearly care about the experience and quality. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming. We can’t wait to come back and try their specialty smoked meats on the regular menu next time!

Food was really dry !!! . And had no flavor !? . Pig wings had a hint of smok no seasoning and for about 4 oz meat or so for 6 to 8 dollars a peace . And for having to use a lot of barbecue sauce to choke it down . Pulled pork seemed like it was Frozen store bought . Had no flavor ( yes they had different barbecue sauces definitely not anything homemade . For the taste that's the food / Service was friendly but until I was going to pay they were like hoverboard like watching me count the money to put in the book . Like I just started getting my wallet out to pay . I didn't want to pay right then and there I was going to just sit there . And Joy our water that was in a water bottle ? Just was feeling Forest to get out ??? . And for building experience was nice small outside and kind of a train 🚂 looks inside was not bad looking. It seemed clean did not use the restroom so I can't give you a full review . feel like we were getting forced out like we had to pay could not sit there so over all from 0 out of 10 I would give the food one star ⭐ service I want to give it a one but I'll give it two ⭐⭐ because it seemed friendly but maybe it was just a bad day there . just really weird . But on the building I'll give it to 4 ⭐⭐⭐⭐

We got the lunch sandwiches, a brisket and a pulled pork. Then apple crisp for dessert. The food was excellent, all of it! Prices were reasonable and the owners are exactly what you expect to see in Iowa Nice. They were very friendly, accommodating, and proud of their business (with reason). We’ll make the trip back this way!

'Made a Friday night pit stop and had some terrific soup and an adult beverage. Also, the Fire Box accommodated a special family lunch with absolutely delightful choice of entres and sides. 'Love the railroad theme....it fits the location and the community!

My kids and I came here to eat last night. Both (owners I’m assuming) were very polite. One of my kiddos is a huge brisket lover and she LOVED their brisket and stole mine too. 🤣 the other one said it’s the best coleslaw she ever has ate. I very much enjoyed the pulled pork and (what I got to eat before my kiddo stole my brisket) brisket and the potato salad is delicious! We will definitely come back, especially on a Saturday for Ribs!
