Legit thought we were going to get murdered in here. Was with my parents who love small town diners as we were passing through on the way to Omaha. The good reviews saying how warm and lovely Mel was convinced us to stop. When we opened the door and stepped in, all conversation fully stopped. But it felt too late to turn around, even though the creepy factor was immediately 11/10. We quietly took a table, ordered, and tried not to do anything to make anyone more uncomfortable than we already felt. The other two occupied tables were eating spaghetti off of ceramic dishes. We were served cold sandwiches and just lettuce (ordered a salad) on paper plates with plastic utensils. The clientele and staff alike were so cold as to be nearly hostile. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough.

When I travel I tend to try to find the small town cafe or restaurant that may be a little bit off of the beaten path. This restaurant is only a few miles off of i-80 and it is a gem. This Cafe was everything I expected it to be. Small town feel with really good American fare, and fries that were crispy that I didn't have to ask to have made that way. Check them out if you get a chance. They don't take credit cards, so the cost is low

Dive style lunch diner with good service and EXCELLENT food. The cheeseburger I ordered was obviously hand made and one of the best I've ever had! Come hungry, portions are large! Highly recommend

Stopped by on our way to visit family in Illinois. By far the best burger I have had in ages!! Fresh burger, fresh fries service was amazing and you honestly cannot beat the prices!! I highly recommend stopping by if you're tired of gas station junk and have cash handy. They don't take any debit or credit cards but honestly, you should always carry a bit of cash with you just in case. Great customer service too! Thanks so much ladies! Btw, the food was also approved by our dogs! They loved it ?
