Real food. We both had the meatloaf special. Delicious. Great ice cream - hubby got a caramel shake. Awesome homemade pies- got a slice of pecan and superb cherry pie to go. Great taste and crust! Worth the short drive north of I80. Charming small town.

The restaurant is very clean, the service impeccable and attentive. I had the ribs, heavy for lunch but the price was great. They did not disappoint! Fantastic food! I will be back!!

Had coconut cream pie. It was the worst pie I believe I ever had in my life. I looked like it had been sitting around in a fridge for days. The meringue was flat, the filing was flavorless, had roasted coconut on top but that did nothing for it. I have tasted a lot of pies in Iowa and cannot understand how this made the list.

We ordered a $12 burger and ended up with a bill of $21, plus a tip. We spent $4 on fries that we shared, and then we were charged a split plate fee to cut the burger in half. There was no mention that it would cost us $3 to cut a burger. We didn’t even ask for it to be cut. We had water to drink. I do not have that kind of money to share a meal. Just a note: we did not get any chips and we did inquire about our charges.
Have a good day!

We ate lunch here on a Friday and sat at the table from which the main picture of this place for TA was taken. It is clean and newish, on the busy downtown main road, just south of the flag displays. We had the "already reported as huge" tenderloin sandwich; HUGE is an understatement. We shared one order and even after cutting it in half, was almost too much. Meat was tender and without fat or gristle, soft moist flavorful breading, just right. Came on a slightly too small bun, with piles of onions, lettuce, pickles and two big slices of ripe tomato. We had potato chips with it. We also had a slice of the peanut butter pie which was excellent! My wife's glass of milk came in a handled canning jar. I had fresh hot coffee. All VERY good. Total bill $30
Tired of the same old tasteless lunch? Fix that by making the drive to Brooklyn Iowa and the Classic Deli. Wonderful, friendly service and absolutely delicious food. I had the brisket melt and fries. Not your average fries. These are cubed potatoes with the most amazing and tastiest seasonings. The brisket was tender and perfect. I've been stopping in when out on rides and always love the options.
