My wife and I came in for dinner and I had probably one of the best old Fashions I've ever had they really know how to make one I had a steak which a lot of times is a hit or miss when you go to a new restaurant they can either cook it or they can't and they really made me a great steak their prices are reasonable they're portions are great and we just had an overall really good experience the staff was friendly and attentive and honestly no complaints whatsoever plus it's attached to our hotel so it's a win-win

It was ok. First the food, like I said it was OK. Nothing like OMG so good but it wasn't horrible. Had the salad bar to start. Several pre-packaged cremy pasta salads, the lettuce salad blend was sitting in 1/4 in. of water, the only crackers offered were saltines and they had no soup. I had the steak sandwich because it came with mushrooms and onions on it without a $5 up charge. The steak was tough, and slightly overcooked. The mushrooms and onions had good flavor. My GF had the French dip and the Au Jus was decent but the sandwich had little to no flavor to it. After that, our onion ring appetizer arrived(yes, after our main meals). Again these were kind of a miss, not a fan of battered onion rings, especially when the onion isn't cooked thoroughly in the middle. Nkw for the vibe/atmospher. I was really confused when we were sat. The first thing they brought us was an order of chips and salsa, not common for a tap house. Then we had 2 servers approach us at the same time, they seemed confused whose table it was but figured it out and we got a drink order in. Then we looked over the menu, and based on the name, and what I knew of previous restaurants that had been in this location, I had an expectation in mind already. But, to me, this restaurant seems to have an identity issue, like it wants to be a Mexican restaurant but also a steak house. The name and one side of the menu leads towards steakhouse, like what has been in this location for years, the other half of the menu says Mexican restaurant.

I ordered their pork tips tonight, one of the best things I have had, and the best thing I have had in Carroll Iowa. They were tender, juicy and wonderfully flavourful. I meant to take a picture but loved it so much I didn’t take a break from eating. Just-WOW.

I reserved a table for 13 for my husband's 70th birthday. It was great, we surprised him. In fact I think he's still in shock! Our waitress was Brooklyn and she was awesome! We were a bit rowdy but she handled it great! We had their side room all to ourselves! I would definitely recommend this place! We'll for sure be back. A customer at the bar even helped us with a group picture. Priceless!! Thank you 1730 Tap House!! :)
We just had a group of 10 for supper at the Tap House tonight, and everybody is so friendly, service was excellent and the food was very good. Real nice atmosphere!!!

We had a great experience at 1730 Tap house tonight. Food was excellent, my mixed drink was excellent and service was friendly and timely. One of the best dining experiences since I have lived in Carroll the last 10 years. I highly recommend.
