There is nothing more iconic than a dive bar in a small Iowa town, and like many of them, this serves really good food at an equally good price. I stumbled across Gordie's when I was in Centerville picking up shelving. I happen to adore dive bars, and this checked all of the boxes. The food was fantastic. The service was fine, but no one came and asked if we'd like our drinks re-filled. The atmosphere was a bar. Music and voices overpowering. All that being said, the people there were VERY friendly and personable with their food being above average!
Hostess/waitress went out of her way to be polite..courteous and professional! Food was excellent and very well priced. It was well worth the drive from Des Moines to visit here!
