Best beer around. I’m glad Hyvee restaurants still have some.

Ugh. Cant wait till the rest of the "craft" beer places go out of business. Ive been to dozens of these places all over the country and they are literally all the same formula: 1: overhyped beer that doesnt taste good2: over marketed "contemporary" setting designed by yuppies, hipsters, and queers.3. Over-priced everything.Glad its gone, hope the rest go soon. Cannot WAIT FOR THIS TREND TO DIEBad beer is BAD BEER! Clever names just wont sell that trash.

Did not honor their commitment to the pub pass. Go to peace tree across the street instead.

We always enjoy their beer and friendly atmosphere!! They always have some unique brews to try!

Was going to go here but after seeing a review saying that they don't honor the pub pass, I'll pass on supporting them after we spent money on this pass.

Stopped in while visiting Des Moines. Place is not too busy. Nice selection on tap. Was here for trivia night. Great group of people!

We were visiting 1717 for the first time today- hubby had the Pub Pass. We were told they were no longer accepting the pass because they were not reimbursed enough to make it pay. We have used 13 passes out of 20 so far and have never been told this. Since we had filled the parking meter, we then went across the street to Peace Tree, where, not only did they accept my husband's Pub Pass, but they sold me a $10 cocktail (amazing!). Lame on 1717's part for losing a potential future customer over a $6 beer! (One star is a gift btw!)

This little brewery is a hidden gem in DM. I am not sure why they aren't busier. The sours I have had here are excellent. Small place with friendly staff. Quieter crowd and usually good music for us older folks. Stopped here as it was on the brew pub pass. Now this has become our fav spot after food on the weekends. Patio and open garage doors make this spot full of fresh air and relaxation.

If I'm in the area, I always make a point to stop here for a beer or two. The selection is great, and the atmosphere is always welcoming. The beer tenders are very knowledgeable and personable. I love their "pay it forward" system, where you can buy a beer for folks who work in a particular industry or are celebrating a birthday, anniversary, etc.

This cream ale is like no other ! I've tried them all and no one makes a beer so creamy ! Lots of newer flavors I will try. Right now can't stop drinking this outstanding cream ale ! What a good job !!!

Nice service and spacious seating but just not happy with the beers. Friends and I agreed the beers were lacking flavor, seemed water down almost.

Not sure why it took us this long to get to this place, but we finally did last weekend. The atmosphere (see pictures) and beer were my favorites...great decor and a good selection of beer, all of which that we sampled we're good.Definitely worth a stop while you are downtown...modern, clean, great beer and service.Food: n/aAtmosphere: 5Value: 4Service: 4If you found this review helpful, please click to show your support. ??
