Been coming here for years. For the money and just in general it is the best place to grab a drink in the city. Bartending staff, especially Anne, is second to none. The new owner did a great job preserving a lot of the core charm that the previous owner and his brother cultivated over many decades, while putting his own stamp on it. You may hear people complain about how things used to be not understanding that this place has always been a gem.
Honestly, I used to hate coming here because the guy behind the bar was always kind of an ass 😕. I'm so glad the Lachele's people bought it. Way less stinky and Woody is a great bartender!!!
The bar is very, very well taken care of. It’s owned outright. I’m sure operating costs are low. It’s definitely his passion project. It cant be much of an income source. Great place to come for game days/events when other spots are crowded. The jukebox is incredible. The booths are original and darling. The owner/bartender is misogynistic and racist person.
