The food was delicious, but the attention to allergies was awful. I asked for the mac and cheese with shrimp and made gluten free, because I have a strong intolerance to gluten. The mac and cheese was not gluten free and it made me violently ill. I checked the receipt, and the entree showed up with no notation regarding gluten free or an upcharge, which most places have. That is why I am so sure that it was the food here not being gluten free and not food poisoning from another source.

We went to Americana for a birthday this morning and had the breakfast buffet. The food was pretty standard for a buffet. The salted caramel pancakes and filled donut holes were good. The biscuits were over cooked. We also had Bloody Marys and Mimosas which were good

I was in Des Moines for work and this is where they took us for dinner. What a treat it was! I had pork steak and it was incredibly tender and juicy. Would definitely go back.

The fries were tasty, but the rest of the food was badly underseasoned. The servers seem very overworked, like there aren't enough of them for the number of customers.

We arrived during the shift between the brunch services and dinner. We decided to wait 30 mins until we could order appetizers and additional 30 mins when we could then order from the dinner menu. It wasn't a busy Sunday afternoon. (Less than 10 customers) We requested to sit upstairs for some privacy. Our server Kayla said she had to watch the bar in addition to serving and didn't feel like walking up and down the stairs. So we opted for a corner booth. As we're sitting in our booth, a job interview to work for the restaurant was being conducted in the next booth. That was strange. We received our appetizers, no napkins or silverware. We ordered two steaks and only received one plate. I had to sit and watch my husband eating. Then he had to sit and watch me. Needless to say, we were there an extensive amount of time. There must've been a miscommunication that we both wanted the same food item, but each having our own. The food, drinks, appetizers were a 10 if I could give that. The manager came over and apologized for all the confusion and gave us 1/2 off one of the dinner plates. Also, Kayla, the server, was super apologetic about each incident. Kayla paid for our dessert.
Kayla was a very sweet gal, it was not a good experience with the seating, as a more appropriate answer could be the upstairs is closed for dinning right now, verses I don't feel like...walking multiple times up 14 stairs (I counted) Menu had the smallest words and a challenge to read. The appetizers are listed as shared plates. That was confusing. Their drink menu is in a beautiful binder, large words very classy and nice variety. A little overpriced, but nice size food portions and great taste.
