Giving a 4 because I think it deserves around a 3.5, and better than its current average.
Friendly service, but sandwiches not made in order, so even though I walked in with only one person ahead of me, about 4 people (including 1 person with 4 sandwiches) were served before me.
Sandwich had good flavor, but not sure brioche is a good bread for this sandwich.

$0.50 to get a 6oz cup of water is messed up…..
I placed an order for a Cuban sandwich at 2:14pm. At 2:32pm when I still didn’t hear my name called and after witnessing people ordering after me receive their food, I went to the counter. I stated I was still waiting on my Cuban sandwich to which the lady responded, “Oh, I forgot to make that”. No apology, no offer to make it right. Not another word. Then, the gentleman that made the sandwich asked if I wanted Dijon mustard to which I stated I did. I got back to my table and opened the sandwich and of course, no Dijon mustard. I had to go back up and get a side of it. Pathetic.

Women working were polite/speedy.
Food was so disappointing. I ordered a spinach, mushroom flatbread. It was so soggy. Only the “crust” was crispy.
Soggy bread, NO flavor, and mushrooms tasted off. I would not come here again.
Unfortunately, I think the only reason people eat here is because it's the only accessible food past security.
Long wait
Don’t order Caprese sandwich
It’s wasting money
Not many options in the airport and this place is OK. Friendly service.
They do not serve first in first out.
I ordered a sandwich. Waited over 15 minutes for it and watched orders after me get filled. After all of that, it wasn’t even right (asked for different bread - nothing complicated) but I didn’t have time to get it corrected. I did complain to the manager. Did not offer a refund.
May not matter to them - that was my last order with them ever.
Watch out for the beer prices 😅
Great sandwich and relaxing space when you are stranded in forever flight changes during a blizzard🙌🏼

I was wanting a healthier, reasonably price option at the Des Moines airport. Argula and Rye was perfect! The avacadi toast looked amazing but I'm trying to be more carb conscious. When I mentioned this, an employee immediately offered to make it on egg instead of toast!!! The bacon on it was some of the best I have ever had and overall what I got was perfection!! So glad I found this restaurant and, if I flew from Des Moines regularly, it would definitely be my go-to.
My sandwich was hot, fresh and tasted great. The service was a little slower than expected but because they are making and toasting the sandwiches to order, I was totally ok with it. Will visit again on my next flight.
We decided to try Arugula & Rye for the first time. Before reading further, just note that if you ask for a cup for water, they do charge and don’t tell you! That I wasn’t impressed with. I had the toasted cheese with sundried tomato on rye. Rye isn’t what it is back home for me, but it was still a tasty sandwich and I did enjoy it.

Considering your options, this is probably your best bet. Nothing special, still good tho.
