A group of 4 of us went to bellhop around 11pm. We stayed, drank and spent loads of money there all night. One of the individuals in the friend group was pregnant and only drinking Pepsi. When it was minutes from closing time, their bouncer/buss boy came around just as our pregnant friend was getting up to go use the restroom before we left. This employee said the bathroom is closed and then insulted her by saying she was drinking while pregnant. When she rightfully put him in his place and told him to watch his mouth on what he doesn't know, not even an apology, he just doubled down.
without this experience, the night was great. However, since this happened, I will not be returning to Bellhop. Maybe consider hiring security with some emotional maturity

Incredible drinks and Katie is the best. was super excited to visit this bar coming from Canada and got the absolute best service i’ve had in Iowa ❤️ Was not disappointed and will be back if I end up in Des Moines again!

At first, we thought this place had potential. I ordered a double shot of Patrón that tasted suspiciously like José.. first red flag. Then my friend stood at the bar for 10 minutes trying to order while the bartender blatantly ignored her, serving everyone else around her. Weird energy. We came in excited, ready to stay all night and tip big, but the vibe was off. Ended up heading across the street instead and had the best night there. Save yourself the trouble! This place is all attitude, no hospitality. Very disappointing.

Went on a Saturday night and the drinks and service was fine but the music was ungodly loud. And I enjoy good loud music but like holy cow guys it was painfully loud.. Definitely don't need that volume in a space like that.

No where else my friends and I would rather be on a weekend night in DSM! We always have so much fun, and all services are top notch, from the drinks, to the music, to the company.. especially bartenders Katie & Trent! 🤍 Also, how can you not love the Photo Booth!
Visited bellhop this weekend for the first time ! Had an amazing experience and I believe her name was Katie (?) did an amazing job and the drinks were awesome! Came into Des Moines from out of town for the holiday weekend and was definitely not disappointed. Highly recommend

My friends & I frequent bellhop often, and it’s our favorite place in the metro! The service is always lovely, our favorite bartender is Katie. The vibes are always good, the atmosphere is pretty for pictures. It’s also always clean. Overall would highly recommend!
