My impression is that this place is closed long term or permanently. I had planned to try it based on other reviews last Saturday, but it was totally dark. So I dined next door, where the server said that the place hasn't been open since a few weeks ago. I always enjoy a fresh take such as this might have been, but no luck this time!

We were blown away by this place! The food is amazing, chef comes out and talks to you personally! You really get white glove service! You have to give this a try!

So many things to love about this place. A girlfriend and I dined here a few evenings ago and were so impressed. The menu offers something for everyone. We started with hummus and for our main entrees I got the grilled salmon with Spanish rice and she got the chicken piccata. You could really tell everything was fresh and the attention to detail was really nice. The wait staff was attentive and was helpful with the menu. A really nice dinner, can't wait to go back.

We had a great night with dinner at Nomad. The service was very personal and our server had immense knowledge of every dish and ingredient. They clearly are proud of what they provide there and it shows. It's not just a meal. It's a trip to Europe when you eat here. Wonderful wines to choose and very real European flavors are here. A great high end Mediterranean restaurant! Be sure to attend happy hour, the specials are gratifying!!

We ordered their signature dish which included Mussels. I don’t know how they cooked it but there were broken shells all over our dish so we would either have to pick them out or accidentally eat them which was a real treat. We also ordered a Moscow mule that didn’t come in a copper cup nor taste like a Moscow mule.

I really enjoyed this place! Bistro Nomad has a unique flavor and menu for the Des Moines area. This is a great place to get seafood and craft cocktails.

We went to Bistro Nomad for the first time to celebrate a birthday dinner last night, and we are so upset we didn't go sooner! Everything was fantastic. We started with happy hour wine and "to share" plates (all 50% off) and progressed to the seafood paella. Last year at this exact time, my husband and I were in Spain, and this place definitely took us back. The portions are generous, the quality of the food is outstanding and the restaurant is beautiful!

Very upscale bistro dining experience. The waiter gave us suggestions on all of the foods and warned us that the lamb special was almost gone. The hummus platter was homemade and good. I loved the sangria, which came with my dinner special. I had the steak, it was tender and flavorful. Be prepared to have a sit down dining experience. Not someplace to eat if you want "fast" food.

We waited at least 5 minutes just to place drink orders. They only have two options for bourbon, Four Roses and Jim Beam. Even though Four Roses is used in a least two signature cocktails, we were told there was not enough available to serve neat. My fig martini was not good and the server never asked I enjoyed it (I took one drink). The Preserved lemon salmon was overcooked and salty. I had inquired if it was salty an was told no by the server. I was also told it would be served medium. It tasted like salty cardboard. My husband got chicken piccata. It was salty and the chicken was dry. There was a table of very loud shrieking women that detracted from the dinning experience. Since neither of us could eat our entrees, we didn't even try dessert. Extremely disappointing.

Nice atmosphere, but when we saw there were only two people dining on a Thursday night at 6 pm, we were nervous. Drinks were okay, but not worth the price. A kind elderly gentlemen, we're assuming the owner/chef, came to the table and told us about the specials: baked or fried snapper and lamb chops. We bit, but when the food arrived we did NOT. Unbelievably awful. The snapper looked like it had been in a hot oven for hours. Scorched. It should never have left the kitchen after being plated. My lamb chops were nearly raw. Needless to say, we returned our main courses and left highly disappointed!

This was our first time here. We shared the seafood paella. It was good, but definitely not $65 good. Some of the seafood was fishy tasting and over cooked. It was nice to try, but will not be back.

Amazing. Ordered a cheese and charcuterie board, and the seafood paella. If the board wasn't so delicious, I wish I would have skipped it to save room for the paella. It was cooked perfectly and bursting with flavor.

This new addition to the Western Gateway neighborhood is a big plus. Though our service was a bit slow this time, the food was worth waiting for. We opted for the priz fixe and the hummus was of perfect grain, pita soft and the olives prepitted. The cucumbers had a light and flavorful dressing. The entree was well proportioned and and delicious. The accompanying drink was a generous sangria. The creme brulee dessert may have sat a few min too long yet retained structure and flavor. I'll definitely be back

Food was amazing, sangria flight, burrata appetizer, lamb shoulder and a nice after dinner drink. Our server Matt was just lovely. Definitely going back!

Excellent. I cannot say enough good things about this establishment. Impeccable service, food, and drinks. Beautiful atmosphere. You get everything you pay for. Every throes Sunday of the month they have music and an open dance floor. Perfect for a date night or to take out-of-towners if you want to impress them.
