Defo not what you expect from the metal references. Metalheads looking for a metal bar steer clear. But for a chill Vibe IMVU chatroom vibe in real life. This is the place. The menu may be Metal themed with System of a Down, Slipknot, and other iconic metal references even down to the name of the place. But this is EDM/House with a rave mentality. A speakeasy themed bar with a questionable atmosphere. However service is great. Drinks are good. Prices match the quality of drink. Defo relaxed vibe atmosphere with a wanna be hype music vibe. Idk the confusion seems to go through the reviews. Along with the in person experience. Id take someone here to a date. But wouldn't bring the bros. Fix the disconnect. Maybe I'll reencounter this review.

Was sitting at the bar and the bartender with glasses and a long beard come up grabbed our drinks and discarded them while we were still sitting there . When we acknowledged him about it , he told us that it our fault we should've said something. Then he acted like he was going to replace and drink even asked us what one it was only to reiterate how it's our fault bc we didn't say anything. Even though my partner and I were sitting there talking enjoying our drinks as people do in a bar establishment. He never apologized and was super rude about the whole situation. I've been here before numerous times , it usually one of my favorite bars to go to in east village . I was super disappointed in the lack of accountability. I understand we all make mistake's. Instead of fixing the situation he chose to gaslight me as a customer about why it's my fault he discarded my drinks

Omg!! Probably the coolest speakeasy ever in Iowa!!!Frankie, the owner, was the greatest host ever!Drinks were awesome and the Ceviche Bar above was so tasty!!Definitely a MUST GO TO in Des Moines Iowa!

DJ was playing some absolute bangers and overall vibe was good, but the bartenders absolutely ruined the experience of this bar for me.First, I was up sold on a more expensive shot than I originally asked for, which took me a little off guard but I was fine with since it wasn't too much more expensive and legitimately did taste better. Then I went back and asked for a mixed drink and requested it be made on the cheaper side since I'm not a huge alcohol expert and I had a firm budget I wanted to stick to for the night. This bartender ROLLED HIS EYES and noticeably sighed at me when I asked for this. I'm sorry, I didn't realize this bar was only people with money to throw around. After feeling shamed for not wanting to spend a lot of money both these times, I closed my tab and ordered no further drinks. Needless to say, I probably won't be coming back. I really didn't appreciate the way I was made to feel for not wanting to get top shelf tequila.

Wandered downstairs after eating dinner at Ceviche and was blown away but how cool the atmosphere was. Joe took great care of us and recommended some delicious tequilas. Music was fantastic too! Had an absolute blast here.

What an experience. From entering the outside door, going down the steps it felt like you were entering another world. The drinks were great. There is an assortment of tequila, tequila drinks and beers. The staff was helpful and the drinks tasted fantastic.
Dalanie, Bridget and Roger were three of the best people I've met in my 25 years on this planet. If every bar had these three the world would be a better place. 20/10, go here, get a great cocktail, tip them 300% and live your best life.

Cool atmosphere, a fun DJ, but high prices and high-end-sounding "cocktails" served over ice in large drinking glasses. Worth a visit, but stick to beer.

Coolest bar ever. I'm a goth lady so I of course love the atmosphere with all red lighting and gothic/grunge decor. I also love the variety in music. But most importantly, it has the best mezcal drinks I've ever had. The "Kiss of Judas" cocktail is my favorite of all time, and the rest of the cocktails are amazing and completely different from what you'd find in other bars. Beer and shots are also reasonably priced.
