Stopped by for lunch and ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of green beans. Overall great sandwich and green beans. It was lunchtime so I thought it would be a little busier. There was hardly anyone there. It didn’t make it for an interesting stop but I got great service overall.

It was okay. The blackened chicken was really juicy, but the spice level was very tame. The side of rice was very bland and was really only palatable because of the chicken's juices. Subbed out the Cajun cream corn for mashed potatoes with white sausage gravy, wasn't a fan of the gravy at all. The service was good but it was also pretty empty when we went. The atmosphere is so-so.

The moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of sizzling Cajun spices and the sound of lively blues music. The portions are hearty, the service is friendly, and the atmosphere is relaxed. Tried the country pork steak. They were very generous and original on the sausage gravy. On par to what I am accustomed to in Florida.

Great downtown Des Moines restaurant. Lots of Cajun fare. Nice portions of food. Good beer selection.

I was pretty skeptical of a restaurant with this much Cajun on the menu in Iowa, but the reviews were good so figured we’d give it a shot. While I will say that some of the dishes weren’t exactly the same style as I’ve had elsewhere (lived in south Louisiana for a while), everything we had was very good. The chicken and sausage gumbo was tasty, the meatloaf had a very interesting flavor (whatever it was it was great), my coworker enjoyed his ettouffee (it was much darker than most I’ve seen). Would definitely go again and give some other items a shot. Glad we gave them a chance.

Wow. Just wow. The lady at the front desk put us on a ten minute wait, then sat two parties in front of us. When I asked her if we could be seated, she rolled her eyes at us and proceeded to be rude and dismissive.

Service was great, but the food wasn’t. Grilled chicken breast was like biting into a severely overcooked steak. Everyone at the table tried it and was baffled. Won’t return

Great food but was expecting Authentic and more seafood options, somewhat noisy - too many TVs, friendly staff but I love the wall decors - they entertained me. I love Americana stuff.Wheelchair accessibility: You need to pass the back side. They have elevator.
