Went there 11/30/24 worse food I ate upset our stomachs. Onion rings are extremely greasy. Sausage sandwich was disgusting no cheese and toasted bread that tasted like everything from the grill was on it and burnt. Guinnie grinder was horrible covered in red sauce not melted cheese sausage taste like hamburger bun wet. We spit most of it out in napkins. Never again worse food ever

The Croz Nest East is on the way home, have driven by it countless times through the years, and finally stopped to check it out.
I did not know what to expect because when driving by, you just see the small parking lot packed and not much else. The space is nice and bigger than it looks from the outside. A minus is they only have Busch Light on tap but have plenty of liquor and hard seltzer options.
Saturday was karaoke night but not many people sang. The DJ did sing, and it was horrible to the point that I was about to leave.
I ordered the wings plain (other options are hot or BBQ) and the homemade onion rings. I would recommend both! The wings were big, flavorful and juicy, and cooked just right. The onion rings were tasty and light.
There are several dart games which is great but there were some folks using the corner by them as a dance floor so expect your dart games to be interrupted by passing people if that is the case.
Lastly, our bartender was great but he was also the waiter which caused him to be running back and forth a lot. Not sure there was anyone else working there because did not see anyone else helping. Either way, I would recommend it as a bar in the Des Moines area to see.
Parking: Small parking lot that fits about 10 cars.
We had gotten there at 09:00 pm and the bartender was just fine with the orders we had, ( drinks and food ) about 10 pm she was starting to get buzzed, we left at 11 pm when she was arguing about the drinks with ME and other patrons and trying to say they are drunk and wrong... I give this bar a 2 on the list to visit in Des Moines

Kellys little nipper is still best in bar food! But this place is a strong third as far as the east side goes! It also has more space so u can eat more comfortably! Sometimes kellys is cramped.

Great place for drinks, the vibes are always good, the staff is very attentive and friendly. Jessie is usually our bartender and she is great!! The food is really good too. Definitely recommend a visit!
Lukewarm garbage. Hot garbage would have given it a higher rating.

Started as dine in an hour and a half later we asked for to go. So disappointed short staff new cook I was told. Waited and waited 2 for burgers to go. Fries and onion rings were cold. The good news the burger was warm. What a waste of 40 bucks. First time last time.
