I ordered two corn shell beef tacos, and an order of chili con queso through DoorDash. I called the restaurant to make sure the order came with chips, it didn’t say so on the menu. I told the woman on the phone three times make sure there are chips. When my order was dropped off on my order slip was written– no chips. My thoughts are this: if you cannot understand English, you probably shouldn’t be answering the phone and taking orders from customers. The Tacos completely fell apart because the shells disintegrated. There were even two shells For each taco. So I’ve got a container of cheese dip and no chips- whatever! I will obviously not ever Order from El patron again.

Worst experience! Save your money because the food and service sucks! The food was sooo freaking greasy, I asked for a side of guacamole and the waitress brought me the biggest bowl ever, I told her no that's not what I want, then they brought me my tacos smothered in guacamole and charged me $8.99 for it! Unreal! The manager refused to remove it from the bill, too. I'm pissed off.

This is easily my favorite Mexican restaurant in the Urbandale area. The food is always delicious and arrives quickly, and the drinks are very tasty as well. I usually get the chori-pollo and highly recommend it!

The staff is very friendly and helpful, and their new location is very nice. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, and you can tell they take pride in their restaurant.

If you're looking for good Mexican food, you can't go wrong with El Patrón!

Food is better and more authentic than most Mexican restaurants in the metro. We are lucky it is close by. Service is speedy, but friendly. Can't say enough good about it.

I don't know how to order the pozole, it was pure broth and just 5 grains of corn, the saddest pozole I've ever eaten :(

Left a cash tip on the table and wrote 0$ on the receipt and then somehow was still charged a. Additional 10$ tip on my card when I 100% did not have one on the receipt kinda bogus
