Franka Pizzeria

Franka Pizzeria is absolutely delicious! The brussels sprouts are amazing but the pizza is what I love the most about this place. Amazing flavor with fresh ingredients and options for red or white sauce. I've tried a couple different kinds of pizzas here and each time I try a new one, it's my new "favorite". The service is impeccable and I can sit outside but of the sun.

Solid pizza. Strong cocktails. Solid staff. My biggest issue is I’m not 100% on how to pronounce this place. FrAWNka? FrĀnka?

Very attractive downtown pizza venue with a variety of artisanal pies and a relatively limited beer selection. My sausage pizza was too spicy for my taste.

Pizza was literally back in Italy! Start with the margarita which is the staple pie over in Italy and France by the way. Then move to the other great pies and apps they offer! Brussels and wings!!! There is no better in the city!

We don’t live near Franka, but eat here as often as we can. The wood-fired pizzas are amazing—thin, with perfectly chewy back crust and fresh toppings. The atmosphere is light and relaxing, and we especially enjoy sitting outside in nice weather. The staff is extremely nice, making the experience even better. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!

It was my first time visiting the downtown location. Franca Pizzeria was awesome ?.4 cheese pizza was omG. Delicious ?

Love the pizza and service! We each grab a pizza for ourselves and easily finish it! Phenomenal crispy, chewy crust, delicious toppings and service with a smile! We love sitting on the patio outside and watch the passersby.

New found love! This is excellent pizza with quality ingredients. My husband and I consider ourselves pizza connoisseurs and are not fans of chain ones (okn wait, Casey's is the exception) . I don't typically order plain cheese, but my son didn't finish his and I was curious about the flavors. It was also simply delicious.It's conveniently located by the river, so if you are shopping around East Village, you can do that, if you are out on your bike, that works too or if you want to dine pre or post show at the Civic Center or Stoner Theatre, it's an easy walk as well.

Can't believe this place only got 4.2 stars. The pizza is not a typical American pizza, it is more Italian style of pizza that they are not trying to put tons of ingredient to overwhelm your taste buds, instead, they are giving you a good taste of the dough itself!

Cool restaurant and delicious food. I came with a large party and everyone really like their food. The only one that did not get fantastic reviews was the lasagna. Personally ordered the squash salad with salmon, delicious!

We had a great experience here! The meatball pizza & the corn pizza was awesome! I’m a pizza purest so it’s always red sauce for me but the thyme cream sauce on the corn was amazing! I got it with the gf crust which was ok…could have been a titch crispier (& that’s why I’m not giving 5⭐️).The staff working 2/24 evening were hustling and on top of everything! We’ll be back☺️

I had a wonderful time at Franka. We shared a pizza between two people, it was a great amount of food and so delicious! The service was great - always prompt but not awkward or lingering.One of the team noticed our table had a slight wobble while refilling water, before I knew what was happening he had popped down to adjust the table legs to even it out. So accommodating!

My husband, my in-laws, friends and I love this place. The people and the food are just fantastic! Their weekend brunch is also good—I was allowed to get the breakfast sandwich (with cheese) during the week which was great. We especially like the wings, arrabiatta & hot honey pizzas, and fries. They have great coffee drinks as well. We’ve enjoyed everything we’ve tried so far. Also they have outdoor seating on nicer days during the winter. Thank you!!

A great place to eat! We tried it for the first time - everything overachieved! It was fairly busy for a weeknight - good atmosphere and very friendly staff.The pizza is delicious. It is one of the better Neapolitan-style establishments in Des Moines. I tried the wings - done to perfection with a delicious side sauce.The atmosphere was wonderful with a great view of the street and ice skating rink across the way.Staff was friendly and helpful.....and shared the history behind the restaurant.It was the first time, but definitely not the last time we will eat here. In this day and age, it is hard to find quality like this in a restaurant. Great job!

It’s literally the best Pizza i have even had in my entire life. It’s authentic and delicious. We love Franka and go there weekly! It’s so fresh and they use fresh ingredients specially the mozzarella cheese. Keep it up!
