The Greenwood Lounge offers a great atmosphere with top-notch bands, making it a stellar dive bar. While the drink prices are very reasonable, the bartenders can be mostly surly, so visitors need to learn to ignore their attitudes and enjoy the music and vibes. The restaurant has a long history, with murals on the walls that haven't changed in over 50 years. However, the seating and decor are quite worn, and the back entrance is in a deteriorating and dangerous condition. Despite these issues, the Greenwood Lounge remains a long-term Des Moines favorite.
