Words do not do this place justice. You must go and experience it yourself. My friend and I went here for the first time tonight and had the best experience in our lives. I walked in and immediately knew I was going to love this place when I smelled the deliciousness in the air. The staff was super friendly and helped guide us through the menu, as I told them it was our first time there. We ordered 2 meat dishes and 2 veggies dishes. It was very fast service. My friend and I sat down and started to eat. When the food hit my mouth it was like magic. Before I knew it I was two bites in and already planning my next visit. This place is a must for sure. It will not disappoint. I would rate above and beyond 5 stars if I could.

Excellent service and excellent food. You taste the flavours in everything. Experienced the veggie platter with injera and goat with Doro wat. Goat was tasty and not dry. Doro wat tasted good also. The veggie platter is my absolute favourite!

What delicious food! It is a fast food environment, but the food is way above other fast food! The food is delicious, beautiful and complex. Eating there gave me the wonderful cultural experience I was looking for.

This was a surprising gem for a college town visit. Gurkha has fast food efficiency and design, with restaurant quality food and service. We ordered beef and vegetarian options and were impressed as everything was flavorful and fresh. The beef was particularly impressive as it was so tender. For two hearty meals, the prices are very reasonable. The owner and server were very friendly and we enjoyed the cultural themed ambiance. Would travel out of my way to eat here again!

Gursha is one of Des Moines's hidden gems. The prices are reasonable. The portions are generous. They have vegetarian and vegan options, and they have less common meat options like lamb and goat in addition to standards like beef and chicken. The lamb is my personal favorite and the gomen (collard greens) is excellent too.

We love Gursha! We had a great dinner and after I purchased another meal for my Uncle in Illinois. They packaged it special and I delivered it the next day on ice. He said the lamb was amazing.

Foods great a must try. I usually get their very tasty beef tips and marinated seasoned chicken. Which, comes with rice that makes you want more and a house salad. It’s refreshing and a healthy option along University. It’s by Drake University and you’ll notice the students and staff have already found this gem.

Super flavorful, priced well with great value for money. Large portion. Service is at the counter but very friendly staff. They will let you sample if you aren’t sure… Not a fancy place but very clean.
