I have been loving these unique and tasty tacos for 40 years now. A small business on the Southside of Des Moines if you want something new and different to try why not tacos? Pleasant, small business that's had no problem surviving my whole life in several different locations now but always on SW 9th. Try a tasty secret and share the news with your friends. Tried this for the first time last night, and Omg I fell In Loooove!!!?My new favorite little Mexican food place! I would absolutely eat Henry J's Taco House food Daily, if I could make it happen?I personally found this taco house to be the most tasty, and deliciously satisfying Mexican food on the Southside of Des Moines(or anywhere in Iowa, in my opinion?) I highly recommend trying it to Anyone. I'm so ready for lunch! See you again soon Henry J's!!!!
I love their food however several photos on the website so tacos are cut open with cheese on top but the tacos now are fried completely shut & you can't even cut them open without tearing the open & there certainly is no cheese topper on cut open taco these days, I winer why?

This place is Gross. Dirty nasty food. People that work here look like they haven’t showered in a month. Not sure what all the hype is on the South side about this place.

I grew up eating tacos from Henry J's and as a kid and young adult I loved those tacos , as I ate there today my taco was supposed to be a flour taco in whick it was but it was thin and over cooked making the shell really crunchy and hard . I will not be returning to this restaurant again I think I will stick to my favorite tasy tacos from now on .
