I wish I would have taken more photos but the food was so good our family couldn’t think to take photos. My mom wanted to eat at HoQ Resturant for her 40th wedding anniversary and wanted the whole family with them to celebrate. Little back story my mom sells vegetables to the owner that he uses in his dishes. 90% or more of the ingredients are locally sourced in Iowa. Farm to table concept. We started withh naan bread the brought out and a little bit of I think pasta with beets....
Incredibly underrated location. Easily one of the best filets I've had and the vegetables were incredible. you can taste the difference in the farm to table. We had originally been trying to go to one of the traditional steak houses in the area but they were booked with the marathon and we didn't have a reservation, so we ended up here because we liked the locally sourced concept. Tremendous eatery. Dishes are born of fine ingredients and the menu well conceived.
Plating and visual appeal are on point.
The tastes are great. Remarkable flavors were present in most of the dishes we tried recently. The beets, not so much, but the salmon tartare and perogies were great. The beef Wellington was a bit more gravy-esque than I'd imagined, but tasty and packed with flavor.
