A simple rural rustic environment, a big open room but not too loud. A very plainly presented meal. The steak was not overly seasoned, just a good straight up steak. I feel my medium steak was more medium rare but still very good. With a small baked potato and bread. Along with the salad bar made a good meal.

Iowa beef is the best in the world and I’ve had Kobe and Wagyu in Japan, and Australian beef in Sydney/Brisbane. That said Iowa Beef Steakhouse is on par with NYC’s Peter Lugar’s or Keens (been to both) for 1/2 the price! Pick your steak from the case. Their T Bones are USDA Prime quality, and they will let you grill them yourself if you ask politely. The salad bar is also full of great surprises (dill gherkins, fresh boiled eggs and quality blue cheese). The place is rustic and should NEVER change. This is a true American steakhouse. Tip my hat to Iowa Steakhouse you folks have a good thing going here!

Our group of 21 guests had dinner at Iowa Beef on Saturday, January 17, 2026. At first, we were concerned since there was only one server for all of us - and we can be a rowdy bunch. Our server, Lori P, was AMAZING! She got all of our orders in, drinks were terrific and our meals came out quickly. Everyone's dinner was top notch as you can expect at Iowa Beef & those mushrooms. . . WOW. Lori made our experience memorable and we will request her every time we return. Went with my Best Friend Wanda and her husband and mine. I grew up on that side of town and always wonderful about it so I came to visit my son for New Years. I will make it a point to come overtime I am in town. Mouth watering steaks amazing salad bars and our waitress was on top of everything. Glad I finally tried it

Loved everything about this place. Our waitress was so kind and the food was amazing. My mother and I had the ribeye and my daughter had the wings plain and it was all delicious no joke will definitely b coming back in the future! Definitely worth the prices!

We've never had an issue here before, but today most of our food was not hot. Even worse, the Italian sausage sandwich and cheeseburger were so salty they were almost inedible. We always have an issue with restaurants when sending foods back plus we didn't have time to wait for food to be remade today. The bill was over $40 for sandwiches that included a side. No extras were ordered. We drank water. We'll definitely give them another chance, but we'll request to add seasoning ourselves.
