Went on a Thursday night. Has a very cozy mom and pop shop feel. The food was made fresh, but also was delivered in a timely manner. I got the Italian beef that was smothered in its sauce (how I personally love them), while my dad got the wings. The wings were still steaming as he was eating them! The staff was very friendly, and I think the owner came out to check on us a couple of times. Very sweet. You must give this place a try if you’re indecisive!

This is how an italian beef should be made. Loaded with beef and hot peppers. Bring an appetite ot prepare for take home. And all for under 14 bucks, value and flavorful, you can't go wrong. The ambiance is chill with soft tunes 8n the background ong with a playful staff, majes for a very enjoyable meal.

I’m just gonna make this simple It’s good service, smiles, friendly and the food is delicious comforting to your inner fat kid. The meal is worth it price. I ate on it for 2 days. The greatest thing about this place is that I can get a Chicago meal here old school style Pizza Puff and fries with mile sauce. Blew my mind. I get a little bit of home in Des Moines Thanks for that ❤️

Just had an amazing lunch from Joppa Experience and we’re already planning our next visit! I got the catfish sandwich and let me tell you—the breading was perfectly seasoned and crispy, and the sauce? So good. My team member ordered the lemon pepper wings and said they were “fire”—crispy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection.
The atmosphere was equally impressive. It felt like walking into a space where everyone knows each other—warm, welcoming, and full of love. Joppa Experience is truly a gem. We’ll 100% be back!

First, it's not a restaurant. This is carryout only, at least on the Friday I went.
Ordered the oxtail plate with Mac n cheese and sweet potatoes. Oxtails were about 3.5/5. I thought they'd be Jamaican oxtails but they were southern style. Pretty good overall. Mac n cheese was 3/5, good but nothing special. Sweet potatoes were 5/5, amazing.
If I was in the area again, I'd try their Chicago style dishes. Just wish there was seating.
