Don't go to that store. That place is disgusting with the drunks and then there are the vomited bathrooms, what a disgusting place.

Omg their birria tacos are dynamite. I literally just drove to the other side of town to get them. They also have a birria burrito which is next on my list. Quick friendly service & great tacos WOW!

La Favorita means the favorite in Spanish, but this is by far the favorite Mexican grocery in Des Moines. It is small and crowded, and the lighting is poor. The prepared food they have in the warmers does not even look appetizing. La Favorita made me wait an additional 16 minutes from when the order was to be picked up. I asked if they could throw in a container of free rice, and they said they could not do that. There are other Mexican grocery stores that have better food and much better service.

I got carne asada tacos, rice and beans. Beans were flavorful, creamy and smooth, tacos were some of the best I’ve ever had… And the rice? It was so fluffy, when I blew on it to cool it off rice stated floating away. I don’t know how I’ve never heard of this place, but I’ll be a repeat customer for sure. 10/10

Very underrated prefer this over taco trucks or other mexican restaurants in the metro area.

I request your salsa verde recipe immediately ?Get al pastor tacos and their pozole. The tacos are amazing but the pozole is ? magnificent! The broth is so flavorful, meat tender, and hominy cooked perfectly. You guys are hands down the place to go.

THE BEST!Super friendly staff and delicious food. Go on weekends to get quesabirrias. I love to sit down here and enjoy a meal, but you can grab it to go too.

Holy deliciousness. Sopes are amazing. The carne asada burrito is phenomenal. The quesabirrias are to DIE for. This is our new fav spot and the gentleman working behind the meat counter is so sweet and kind . Workers were helpful also!
