Skips every song you play. Why even have a PAID jukebox if the bartenders are just gonna skip songs to play things they like? Would not recommend.

A fun small dive bar worthy of stopping by for a quick drink, shot, or pitstop. Don't expect the cleanest bathrooms if you go, but Locust Tap will definitely be the cheapest priced (and strongest) drinks you'll find around.

This is the perfect small, dive bar. Service is always great. I feel like you never meet a stranger while I'm here.

The bartender Eli was a warm welcome on a cold day. The atmosphere was definitely my vibe, but it was the good conversation that’ll keep me coming back.

For this being my first time visiting Des Moines I was highly disappointed. The bartenders were VERY rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone. If it wasn't for me wanting to write a review this place wouldn't have gotten any stars! Worst bar ever!!!
I approached the bar to order a drink, but the bartender declined to serve me, citing a lack of tip from a previous transaction involving my friend, who had ordered two beers. Despite explaining that I was not associated with that order, the bartender remained dismissive and exhibited rudeness throughout the interaction. I am extremely disappointed with the overall experience.

An amazing dive, with the gross bathroom to match. (I say that with love.) Great bartenders, drinks, and vibes here, and you could spend hours just reading the hilarious graffiti on the walls.

Mikee B Is dreamy. The rest of the bar isn't bad either. I hate the rest of the east village now that it's all foo foo. Glad this place stays as a thorn in its side!

Hey Leisha, I’m one of the bartenders who cut you off. I just wanted to address some of your review.1) You say that you planned on tipping after your second round. Curiously, the reason we knew you stiffed us was because you closed your bill and emphasized the line through the tip section. Tabs are generally signed and closed when someone is finished…not halfway through their experience.2) You never explained anything. What you DID do was stand there mumbling that your family owned a bar and pretended like you were calling someone. To which I’ll repeat what I said then “If your family owns a bar then you should definitely know better.”You’re just upset that you were called out publicly and guess what? I’mma do it again.
Went here after a show and ordered drinks. We didn’t tip knowing we would get another round and tip at the end. When we went back up to the bar they refused to serve us because we didn’t tip for the first round. When I tried to explain the kept asking for more money first or to leave. Very rude people.
