It had been a few years since we’d been to Lucca and I can’t for the life of me understand why. We had an absolutely fantastic experience there last Friday and are already planning our return.

We’d decided to do a fancy night on the town with friends (the kind where you dress up for no good reason) and liked the look of Lucca’s prix fixe menu. We arrived at 8pm sharp but our table wasn’t quite ready so the wonderful hostess got us drinks and made us comfortable in the seats near the door. She checked on us several times and we’d honestly have been fine waiting there all night. But they soon seated us and we had an amazing dinner. Four courses, including dessert, for $57 per person. The NY strip alone might cost that at another restaurant. All dishes were delicious and we were impressed at just how wide the selection was.

Once again, the service took dinner to another level and we loved the ambience. Plus, you step out into the East Village and have a million options for the rest of the night.

Exceptional job, Steve Logsdon and crew; it’s no wonder you’re still making national lists after so many years in business. We will absolutely return soon. Highly recommended.

One of my favorite restaurants in DSM. Special occasions, date night, or just dinner with friends. My family loves this spot.

I can’t even put into words the gratitude this staff gave my daughter and her friends when they came into eat tonight before their highschool homecoming dance and quickly realized they were unable to afford the meal. The server was extremely sweet and understanding. Instead of turning them away she made them feel so much better about their situation. She offered them food and a discount and free dessert. They treated them like any other customer and they left feeling so much more confident. I cannot recommend them enough and they said the food was AMAZING.THANK YOU SO MUCH LUCCA AND STAFF FOR THE TREATMENT AND EXPERIENCE YOU GAVE OUR CHILDREN.

Had a date night here and was great. Set menu and great authentic Italian. Price and quality was right for an upscale restaurant. We had the gnocchi and scallops, both really good and would recommend.

Everything was top shelf from the service to the food. The Atmosphere was ok, but not my wife and my thing, that is just us though.

We ate lunch here because another restaurant was too busy, and are we glad we did! The food was fantastic, the service was quick and the price was very competitive.

I had sausage spaghetti, though the other five people with me had sandwiches. We all thought the portion size was generous, especially when compared with chain restaurants. My spaghetti was delivered steaming and had great flavor. The sandwiches were made with fresh bread and ingredients.

Our experience here was so nice, we would definitely return. Lucca is a winner!

Making a reservation was very easy via phone. We were skeptical about the fanciness level before we went, but were pleasantly surprised by table clothes, place settings, and professional service. We were sat immediately and had very little waiting between courses. The food was incredible. We will return and highly recommend for date nights.

Loved everything! It is a dress to impress. 4 course meal restaurant. Every course was delicious and good size! We had a party of 6 and everyone was full before dessert, but nobody wanted to stop eating it was so good! The service was great. They did such a good job keeping the tables clear. The courses were timed perfectly. We spent almost 2 hours there. Worth it!

Service was good. Atmosphere was bland. Made a reservation the night before and they didn’t have it written down, but we were seated which was good. Had a very good martini, but they only have 2 beers available, Stella Artois and Heineken, which isn’t a deal breaker just worth noting. First course was a Caesar salad, which tasted like a bagged salad from the grocery. Second course was spaghetti with sausage, which was ok, not the best I’ve ever had but wasn’t terrible by any stretch. Third course was a NY Strip, ordered medium rare, and it was prepared almost well done. It was served on a bed of mashed potatoes, which were ok. The steak itself was probably in the running for one of the worst I’ve had at an establishment that charges this price for a meal. I’ve had better steaks at Applebee’s. The dessert was a strange bland vanilla gelatin ordeal, and a brownie with a cherry on it. The brownie was good. All in all, I’ve had better $20 meals than this meal, which was in the ballpark of $180 with tip. Very underwhelming and overrated.

You order at the front kiosk, which was a bit interesting and didn’t expect that. You choose your own table. I’m fine with that, but is not the norm…but, The food was terrific. Rigatoni al forno - baked perfectly. Gravy was delicious. Bread was baked fresh.Service at the table was decent too. Will return for sure.
