My wife and I eat there quite a bit. We love their chips and queso so much! My wife generally goes with a taco or occasional enchilada, I love the huge Chimichangas! The staff is always very nice and polite. Great place to eat!
I would highly recommend this place the food was so delicious and real close to home

I order the same thing everytime I go in. Ground beef burrito, no beans add queso dip to the inside. My husband usually orders tacos. Other locations NEVER get our order right. These guys NAILED IT!! My burrito, was absolutely PERFECT!! My husband's tacos were full, which is the was it should be! We will definitely frequent the SW 9th more often!

I needed a late dinner before my morning flight out of DSM and Maria's exceeded my expectations. I didn't expect to find real Mexican food this delicious in Iowa. What a wonderful surprise!! Everything was fresh, delicious and clearly homemade. There is a generous salsa bar, each salsa with a uniquely delicious taste. I would eat here all the time if I lived in Des Moines. And for the quality it is cheap! Eat here!!

I ordered mixed fajitas said specifically 3times no beans, extra rice ,yet what did I get yep u guessed it BEANS. He even made it a point to ask if the taco salad also being ordered wanted beans or not so clearly some where the no beans was clear. Also ordered sour cream payed for it yet didn't get it as well. I can't stand for someone to mess my food up.

I went inside and ordered carryout. The dining area was clean and smelled fresh. Art is on the wall with Mexican music to set the mood. There is a salsa bar to top up your flavors. Service was friendly. I forgot to take a picture this time.(sorry) I ordered Chicken Burrito and side of beans. It was amazing! I could taste each ingredient even though the were wrapped together. The rice inside was full of flavor! It really was best I have had ( like home)
The refried beans were excellent as well. It seems simple, but they were more than that.
I am pleased at the variety of menu and I WILL return! Trust the reviews. Maria's is muy

This place is it! Came through from Omaha, was looking for a predominantly latino area so I could find an authentic Mexican place. The taco truck I had originally planned on wasn't even there and this was right down the street. I'm glad that taco truck wasn't there, otherwise, I wouldn't have come across Maria's.
I had the quesabirria and it was on with the consome, and the tacos had a good amount of meat. Also, liked that they had the salsa bar.

The carne asada here was better than I expected, and a pretty good deal for lunch.

Small environment, but great food. It's just too bad that the full menu isn't uploaded on grubhub, so I can not order drinks like I desperately would love to. I really hate that they are not open on Sunday's, but hey, it is what it is.... I really wanted tres' leches so bad ? ? lol
Parking: It's small so just imagine if they were busy it would be kind of hard to find parking, unless you are parking in the street.
Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access to roll a wheel chair.
