Great experience sitting at the bar. The bartenders (Rick and Emily) are friendly and polite. We will definitely return. The food is 10/10.

Had gnocchi, ribeye, carrot Wellington, and mocha cheesecake. Service and presentation were excellent. Worth the price for finer dining.
Four of us dined tonight at Oak Park on Ingersoll. We were welcomed at the door and thanked for coming out on a snowy evening. After being seated we were presented with menus from our server (who did a great job throughout the entire night). The menu was explained well to us and we made some choices that everyone loved from starters and through the entrees.
Some of the best starters were: the Brioche bread and the potato gnocchi. The gnocchi was truly the hit of the evening with everyone. My Filet Mignon was wonderful (and I am picky about steak having grown up on an Iowa farm where Dad raised Black Angus). My wife and SIL both had the Chilean Sea Bass which was also wonderful. I tasted some of it and it was better than any other I have had at high end restaurants anywhere.
We brought our own Magnum sized bottle of wine to share for which we paid one corkage fee. The desserts we ordered included Crème Brûlée and scoop of sherbet and some fresh-brewed French Press coffee. Overall we all agreed that dining at Oak Park tonight was a better experience than any other fine restaurant in the Des Moines area.
The service from everyone was truly fantastic.

The beef dish I had was not as good as other dishes including the fish and pork chop which were excellent. The beef dish was ok but not great.

My husband and I have eaten at this restaurant previously and had a wonderful experience! We’ve been dreaming of the day we could come back! Tonight we happened to be in town and walked in to see if we could sit at the bar. The hostess was very unwelcoming and seemed to be discouraging us to even try to wait for a spot at the bar. It was super disappointing to the point I don’t know if we will ever come back.

When spending $500 for a meal I expect to not be hungry when leaving. The portions and idioticly small. $21 or $22 don’t remember for a Caesar salad that is basically 2 bites of what looks like 1 piece of iceberg lettuce. For that much money I better be best thing ever tasted, I was almost embarrassed when the salad came out thinking I ordered the wrong thing, but it was not as good as $22 says it should be. I think they named the triple cooked potatoes wrong, I think it is supposed to be you get 3 steak fries. It was more than 3, maybe 6 but you get the point. Attached to a $125 steak all they can muster is 6 fries? Half the fries were maybe 2 1/2 inches tall. Ridiculous. You would think it is a Michelin 3 star restaurant or a James Beard chef or something. I could go on but you get the idea. It’s a $20 a plate restaurant not $200.

I can honestly say I did not expect a restaurant of this caliber in Des Moines but it was AMAZING!!!!
I’m mad at myself that I forgot my servers name, but he was amazing!! Every single dish was incredible, the wine selections were perfect, and I couldn’t pass on the banana split!
Money was spent, but it was worth every dime!

We went to Oak Park for my husband’s birthday. Every dish that we ordered was fantastic and Anthony, our server, was attentive and knowledgeable. The food and the service are excellent. They source as many ingredients locally as possible and change menus about every six weeks.

10/10! Oak Park is a truly lovely and top notch dining experience without the snootiness. Atmosphere is peaceful, servers are professional, friendly, and so knowledgeable. Anthony was our server and elevated the experience just that much more. The sweet corn ravioli small plate was probably the best thing I have ever had, with the flavors just unfolding… it truly told a story. Everything was amazing. The spirit-free cocktail list was also a real treat. My mom and I went, and here’s was we ordered: Drop It Like It’s Hot mocktail, Cabernet Savignon Franc (x 2), sweet corn ravioli, beef carpaccio, crab bucatini, Amish chicken, raspberry soufflé, and an espresso. Bill was ~$213 before tax/tip. OH — and the chef was not happy with the first chicken he prepared for me so they gave us two caviar cones on the house while we waited. The most surprising moment, though, was when a guest at the table beside us said she had forgotten her glasses and our server went to a cabinet in the dining room and brought her a pair of readers without missing a beat. I mean…
