We had the best afternoon there on Sunday! I wish we loved closer and could go all the time! Please open one in the Quad Cities!

Entitled establishment. The amount of gatekeeping in this place is astounding. I'll never return. And regret wasting valuable time coming even once.

We take our dog Bugsy to the dog park as often as we can and we take him to their doggy daycare every other week: The staff is always so friendly and helpful, they always remember Bugsy and every time he even spots Paws and Pints, he gets super excited! It’s his favorite place in the whole world! Dog park staff are also amazing watching over our dogs, giving them attention and making sure they are playing in a safe environment! Food and drinks are always great and they have the best food and drink deals! We highly recommend visiting Paws and Pints, it truly is a great addition to the Des Moines area! ❤️❤️

Playground: The playground out back I feel is always closed. Which is a big let down considering I have bigger dogs who like it best out there. That's why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5.

Toilets: The restrooms are always clean and smell good.

Dog-friendliness: The employee's are usually really good at stopping fights before they become a serious problem. I'm not sure if they attend to the playground area but I don't usually see them out there when it's open. Which is hardly ever.

Picnic area: I'm guessing the picnic area is the outdoor restaurant area?? If so it has good food but the service is super slow and the wait staff are always talking instead of attending to their tables.

Word of caution - aggressive dogs and dogs/owners with no social skills are not asked to leave. On just our second visit my dog was rolled to the ground while trying to get away from an aggressive/over stimulated dog and was being bitten all over unprovoked while she laid in the submissive position curled in a ball. Even though she was yelping and crying the owner did not come over until I started yelling for them to help while I tried to get their dog off and there was no staff around either. As we left I let staff members know what happened and they did not ask any follow up questions to be able to identify what dog it was/who the owners are, so they seem fine with allowing that kind of behavior.

Staff is phenomenal, from the dog park attendants to servers, friendly and welcoming. Amazing food, great atmosphere, and great services. Very clean, lots of fun events and special days. Memberships are super affordable and come with lots of great discounts and perks. 10/10 would recommend.

Last night a group of six of us met for conversation and a meal. Non of us had ever met before.

The park part is impressive, the food is not.

The food is too expensive for the quality. One person did not eat her burger. I asked her why and she said it was undercooked. I asked her why she didn't send it back. She didn't want to make a fuss around people she just met. Another lady didn't eat her chicken wrap. She said something was "off" about it. I will say the fries were delicious.

I was a waitress in my younger years so I felt it necessary to have a conversation with the waitress because this is a learning opportunity.

After the other women left, I told her about the under cooked burger. She said she noticed it hadn't been eaten. I suggested that if she picks up plates and notices the food hasn't been eaten, she should ask the person if the food was okay. She thanked me for the feedback.

Some people just aren't comfortable sending food back, especially around people they don't know well.

If I ever eat there again, I will stick to just eating the fries. They seem safe.

I really enjoyed watching all the dogs play and interacting with the pets and their people.

I hope the management improves the restaurant's food quality and trains the staff to recognize when someone is not satisfied with their food because some people aren't comfortable complaining, for whatever reason.

The food there is too expensive to go home hungry.

We went once and joined for one month. It is very big and clean and the staff is friendly. Here’s what I don’t like.
Staff and customers are permitted to leave their dogs unsupervised. The staff can leave their dog or dogs in the park area and go work in another area. Those dogs should be in the daycare. Customers can leave their dog or dogs in the dog park and leave to sit in the bar/ restaurant.
Both of these have consequences for other
customers.
Some dogs just stand at the doors and wait. Other dogs cry and bark at the doors. The attendants are not daycare providers yet sometimes they need to step in for the absent owner. This includes when a fight occurs.
My feeling is that the policy of owners being permitted to leave their dogs while they are in the bar/restaurant will not change because it provides Paws and Pints additional revenue. However it is a disservice to responsible dog parents who have the sense and consideration to not leave their dogs.

I take my dog to the groomers at Paws & Pints once a month to get his toe nails trimmed and paw pads shaved. His last visit was Friday 12/20 with Sarah. My dog was cut during the grooming and I was NOT told about this. I discovered it while putting Aquaphor on his paws for weekly maintenance, on the evening of 12/23. I cannot contact his vet because they are closed for the holiday to see if he needs an antibiotic. I get mistakes happen but why not tell me! My dog was neglected his first year of life and has chronic erlchia. Covering up mistakes only makes them worse, this is clearly done by grooming sheers and was recent. I also spent $90+ in the shop after his groom. I was offered nothing by Paws & Pints. They asked Sarah about it and she said she didn’t know it happened; why would she own up to it after already trying to cover it up. There is salt all over the sidewalks so it has to burn his cut. When I called to talk about this, their message says safety is a #1. Not the truth when it came to my baby. Please just be honest and tell people when you hurt their animals!!

We were here from out of state and we were refused entry because we didn't have a paper vaccination record. Our dog had her rabies tag but that wasn't good enough. So we were going to leave the dog in the truck with it running and the heat on. The owner wouldn't allow that and tried to tell us it was illegal. What a waste of had and time going to that joke of a bar.

The puppy yoga was fun. They had no gf brunch options and then charged us $14 for a couple scrambled eggs and some veggies. We had to send a drink back. Don't go the restaurant, just come for the dog area.

They denied us because our vet records weren’t sufficient enough. We met all of the vaccination requirements to bring our dogs there, but they do not accept vet records that are hand written with the vaccination stickers scanned straight from the vet. We came from far away and were so excited to visit with friends but it seemed like they weren’t willing to work with us because our records aren’t digital.

Absolutely abysmal place. Smells like dog poop and pee throughout the entire place - I know it’s a dog park, but it’s actually horrifically bad. Avoid at all costs

Smell is absolutely repugnant
