Ended up in Des Moines thru a freak travel issue, tired and extremely hungry! We flopped down in Portermill and were treated to exceptionally friendly service, nice atmosphere and some pretty awesome burgers!! Highly recommend stopping in to eat if you find yourself at the Des Moines Airport. 5-Stars!!!

Your bartender is extremely rude and needs to learn customer service. Today at noon 12/7/25. Didn’t even order. I was turned off by the service. Servers and bartenders should communicate better. Server said place to go order with bartender and then bartender said server does that. When I asked to place an order she said when I’m done with these guys I’ll take yours but that’s a serve that does that. I said well we were here before those two. She gave me like she was racist! I was Hispanic and she wanted to serve the two white guys first.

$16 burger looks like a Mcdonalds dollar menu. Service was slow, and didn't seem to know what was going on. Brought the bill before even a drink, which I get for convenience, but... Took my card and the bill and walked around with it for 10 minutes before having to ask other tables if it was their card. Lousy burger took 25 and came out wrong.

I had a really tough travel day when I visited. The service I received from the bartender was superb. The bartender Kayla was a huge bright spot in my travel day. She was very positive, informative and a friendly face. The music selection was great while I was there. Stopping in totally turned my travel experience from a negative experience to a positive one.

I got really low expectations for airport restaurants. Still, this one is not too bad. I would say it is on par with other regular restaurants in Iowa. Good price, good selection of local beers. Really doesn’t feel like rip-off airport restaurant. Can’t complain. Good service, spacious, good to kill time on delays.
We always had such a blast grabbing lunch or dinner before our flights here. You absolutely have to check out this restaurant!

I really can’t give any stars. I walked in and asked if we had to be seated or sit anywhere. The waitress said to sit anywhere. I sat in the corner to get some work done while I ate, or so I thought. I sat there for literally TWO HOURS with neither waitress approaching me. Had a menu on my table, nothing. Had eye contact with them, still nothing. Usually I’d ask for something but decided to see just how long it would take. Both cleaned tables and floors around me. Waited on new customers that came after me, ate and left while I was there. Still nothing. When I left, no one said anything.
