I had a really tough travel day when I visited. The service I received from the bartender was superb. The bartender Kayla was a huge bright spot in my travel day. She was very positive, informative and a friendly face. The music selection was great while I was there. Stopping in totally turned my travel experience from a negative experience to a positive one.

I got really low expectations for airport restaurants. Still, this one is not too bad. I would say it is on par with other regular restaurants in Iowa. Good price, good selection of local beers. Really doesn’t feel like rip-off airport restaurant. Can’t complain. Good service, spacious, good to kill time on delays.

I really can’t give any stars. I walked in and asked if we had to be seated or sit anywhere. The waitress said to sit anywhere. I sat in the corner to get some work done while I ate, or so I thought. I sat there for literally TWO HOURS with neither waitress approaching me. Had a menu on my table, nothing. Had eye contact with them, still nothing. Usually I’d ask for something but decided to see just how long it would take. Both cleaned tables and floors around me. Waited on new customers that came after me, ate and left while I was there. Still nothing. When I left, no one said anything.

I ended up having a layover. It was 7pm and the restaurant was closed. However, the staff was truly amazing!! They actually made me a salad and a drink! They really went above and beyond to do this for me! The staff herebis top notch with incredible customer service!!!!

Arriving very early to DSM for an outbound flight, we opted for Portermill as it was inside the terminal. Reviews, well, as you can see, were not so great, but choices are limited.
Well, after our experience, I felt compelled to write a review because our food, service and experience were all excellent! It is after all an airport restaurant, so we were expecting the basics.
We arrived shortly after 11am, and our friendly server Jazmine was right there after we sat down. We ordered a salad entree and sandwich to split and requested side plates which she brought before we were even served. Delivery was very timely and the food was fresh and tasty. Very pleased!
The only item that was just average were the fries - thinking the oil needs to be changed, so a little soggy.
Otherwise, they nailed everything. As we left, another staff person assisted (as it got quite busy quite fast). Our check-out was quick and efficient.

We recently visited before our flight. We have a Cesear Salad that was delicious. I was very impressed with the quality and quantity. Our waitress was Kali who was outstanding.
