Sakari Sushi is hands down my favorite place for sushi in Des Moines! The food is always incredibly fresh, and the sushi is the best in town, no question. What really sets this place apart is the staff. They’re phenomenal, friendly, attentive, and always moving with purpose. You’ll never catch anyone just standing around; they’re constantly making sure everything runs smoothly and guests are taken care of.

Went here on last Thursday night with my Mom. My mom’s bank called her the next day and found 12 separate charges on her bank account directly after paying her bill. Some were from Sakari and some to separate businesses. It all happened in a time frame that points to the server stealing/skimming her card. Absolutely disgraceful and I feel horrible for suggesting this place for dinner. Luckily my moms bank has already disputed and refunded these charges but absolutely DO NOT GO HERE.

We used to love this place, tonight was a huge disappointment. We will not be back! We sat down waited 10min for menus .. got drinks.. and waited around an hr for our sushi only to get it an it all be wrong… one of the rolls had bacon on it and we don’t even eat bacon (pork). Mind you people sat before us an eat and left before we even got our food. Our meal should have been completely comped. The service was okay, she didn’t allow us to even finish talking before she was like okay what else.. over all don’t waste your money or time.

My girlfriend and myself ordered food at 7:35pm we got confirmation that it was ready 7:55pm. I went to the front desk to pick it up and was informed it wasn't ready. I finally didn't get my order till 8:40, I was informed the sushi was a little backed up? I understand it was through Doordash, but you have to confirm it on the restaurant side for it to be ready and it was I managed a few restaurants myself , this is absolutely ridiculous we had to wait this long for it . I won't be dining here again for that reason, I was then informed if I wanted my food faster I should have called and placed the order.

This place is really chill and my food was really amazing but the staff was a little weird and unfriendly some eye rolls and not a lot of communication I tried to just have a conversation and it was not personable but to just go out and just chill it's good.
