I was treated to lunch for my birthday today with my brother and longtime family friend. I enjoyed the Cuban Sandwich with fries very much and it was quite delicious. Our waitress was respectful and helpful with accommodations for one of our orders and checked in on us to make sure our dining experience was enjoyable. We were allowed to sit wherever we wanted and it was quite spacious and clean.

Website and signage advertise “open til 2am.” We walked in at 12am to two people sitting at the bar and an employee leaving. The bartender waited until we were seated to say, we’re closed guys. This could have been addressed when we were at the door instead of watching us walk in and sit down. It was a really awkward and unwelcoming environment.

Use to love Star Bar, however the last several time we have been, the staff completely ignored, waited over 15 minutes before we had to flag staff down to be met with complete rudeness. We decided never to go back. But we relent. Went today 2/1/24. Waited to be acknowledged. The wait staff came over, dropped off napkins then told us it would be a minute. Another 10 minutes go by, she does not come back. We flagged another staff member down and he said" she will be with when she can"! She finally comes back to take our drink order and we told her we were ready to order. She said with such attitude, "well, I will not put it in for another 10 minutes" she was so rude. So we left and went to Skips. Best service ever and Skips was packed.

Ordered the jambalaya and the rice was fresh, it wasn’t mushy like some places that make it days ahead.My only note is there was only 1 single shrimp.Had a great amount of seasoning, sausage and chicken, but basically forgot to add a few extra shrimp.1 by itself kind of stands out as something was missing.Balance the ratio of shrimp, chicken and sausage and this would be a 5 star straight across the grid.We were celebrating a couple of birthdays and the server was great about letting us get some visit time in.It was slow and a Friday afternoon so not during rush time.We ordered the big cheeseburger with fries and it was cooked to the perfect medium, jambalaya, rangoons, 2 beers and a Bloody Mary (that needed a little help but I drank it down) and our total was very reasonable. 45 plus 12 for tip.There were a total of 7 at our table.This review is just for our meals for two people.

Great service and prices. I just wish the Monte Christo didn't have powdered sugar on top. I guess I would've said not to use it if I had known ahead.

Let me start off by saying we Love Star Bar! We belly up to the bar at a few times monthly. 12/16 today we stopped for a late lunch and we're so disappointed! The bar tender (red head) was to busy showing her stalker boyfriends texts to her buddies at the bar to notice we needed refills. The wait staff was ignoring patrons at tables, and when one patron pointed out that another table was ignored rather than someone coming out and apologizing. The employee restocking fruit comes out and starts dropping "F" bombs about how pissed she is that they were called out for shitty service! Pot calling the kettle black! Very disappointed. In this day and age no one is accountable ! Never experienced this from the regular staff.
our food order took almost a hour. our server did not refill any drinks, 4 kids & 4 adults. we had to ask for silverware & condiments.

The food was good but not outstanding. Service was lacking a bit. It was relatively slow Saturday night, guessing 20-30 people. The waiter didn't take everyone's order. We had to go find him to finish the tables order. They just need more staff to accommodate their guests.
