First timer from out of town, but glad we trusted the reviews! Got the food DoorDashed and it was still fresh and tasted fantastic. The BLT was awesome - nothing fancy, but really well done. Crinkle fries are hard to beat when they’re done right and these were. We both loved the corn nuggets as well. We’ll definitely go in next time we’re in Des Moines.

Stopped by the other night while on a trip. Super chill bar with a great selection. Bartender was the star though, funny and very friendly guy. If I was a local, this would be my go-to bar every time. Check it out!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ By the hammer of Thor, The Striking Sparrow is a feast worthy of Asgard! The Philly cheesesteak and Italian chicken sammich were a culinary triumph, with fries and salad fit for a warrior. The cocktails and Pepsi flowed freely. The service was as friendly as the halls of Valhalla, and the prices were as fair as Odin's wisdom. Highly recommend this mighty establishment!

I went to the Striking Sparrow for the first time last night. The service was superb, from the gal at the bar to the karaoke jockey Bobby. Even the patrons were cheerful, encouraging all of the singers. Reasonable prices too! Another thing I like is that they offer actual meal food (I ate before I went so will try their food in the near future). Karaoke is there on Wednesdays & Saturdays at 8. Fun, friendly and fast service!
My new favorite place. Awesome atmosphere. Friendly people. Good food. Awesome new outdoor games. Robin is the best!

Stopped in for some food and drinks. Wings were great, fried green beans were wonderful, and the bloody mary was perfect. Nice little spot that has outdoor games too!
