Tasty Tacos Reviews
this was one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to. no exaggeration. I wouldn't feed a dog the burrito I got here. we left without eating, and luckily were able to find a decent taco truck nearby.
Tasty Tacos used to have some of the best chicken tacos and chicken enchiladas from any fast food taco place in town. After years of success, they decide to change the family recipe and go with shredded chicken. The chicken they use is sour tasting and disgusting. I won’t ever go back unless they change the chicken back to the old recipe.
Nothing about this place is authentic Mexican food. Ordered a corn taco and the shell was stale. I wouldn’t recommend

Tasty Tacos is a highly recommended restaurant known for its amazing food and clean, family-friendly atmosphere. The generous portions of their signature flour tacos and nachos, along with the low prices, make it a popular choice. The restaurant is known for its convenient parking and wheelchair accessibility, making it an ideal destination for first-time visitors and regulars alike.
Customers praise the restaurant's delicious hot sauce, which they often keep stocked at home. The original beef flour taco and the cheese enchilada with shredded lettuce on top are customer favorites. The staff is described as friendly and welcoming, providing good customer service. While some customers have mentioned the filling being less in the past, they note that it has always been plentiful since.
Tasty Tacos transcends the simple definition of a restaurant; it's a vibrant tapestry of cultural history, woven into the heart of Des Moines since its inception in 1961 by the visionary Richard and Antonia Mosqueda. Their stroke of genius—marrying the soul of authentic Mexican flavors with the unexpected, comforting embrace of Indian fry bread—transformed the humble taco into an elevated culinary experience. Stepping inside is akin to entering a time capsule, where the aroma alone—a complex blend of spices, frying dough, and shared laughter—unleashes a torrent of nostalgia. The very walls, adorned with historical snapshots and testimonials, whisper tales of a family's unwavering commitment to their craft.
