The best Mexican food in the metro. Family owned and operated by folks that care!
I have patronized this restaurant for +20 years and have always gotten the best Mexican food and drinks that can be offered anywhere in the Des Moines area and beyond. Great Customer Service! NOT! I called in a order to go. A simple chicken quesadilla fajita. A side of rice. Also some queso dip. Paying over 20 dollars. Got home, there's only maybe 7 pieces of chicken in my large quesadilla. I called them. Told the lady I wasn't happy. Before I could say more. I was told "Not To Come Back" Then she hang up the phone up. Poor customer service. Shaking my head.

Tequila Restaurant & Cantina | Mexican is a small spot on a corner on the East side. The flavors are authentic and spot on. The food is delicious, with options like queso birria, chicken fajitas with chicken spices on point, carne asada deluxe, fried tacos, mini taco salad, and enchilada with rice and beans. The tacos are packed with flavor and cooked just right. The guacamole was a little runny. The drinks are amazing, with a cherry margarita and a mango margarita that was out of the park tasty; every sip is refreshing and perfectly made. The service is great, friendly, and cheerful, always welcoming to everyone. The owner is very sweet. The price is ideal. This place delivers on quality and flavor. It is a total win, worth the visit.
