I have patronized this restaurant for +20 years and have always gotten the best Mexican food and drinks that can be offered anywhere in the Des Moines area and beyond. The hospitality and service is always great and I promise that you too will be pleasantly pleased with any thing offered on their menu! Try one of my very favorites “Chili Colorado”. It’s the dish that I measure any Mexican restaurant anywhere in America, because when I travel away from home I have never found it as good as Tequilas anywhere in our country.

If you like food that lacks flavor and takes short cuts on their menu items, this is the place for you! I would not recommend this restaurant for good Mexican food!

Great Customer Service! NOT! I called in a order to go. A simple chicken quesadilla fajita. A side of rice. Also some queso dip. Paying over 20 dollars. Got home, there's only maybe 7 pieces of chicken in my large quesadilla. I called them. Told the lady I wasn't happy. Before I could say more. I was told "Not To Come Back" Then she hang up the phone up. Poor customer service. Shaking my head.

Food was good, fresh enchilada sauce,family feel with good margaritas.

Highly recommend Tequila Mexican restaurant! It had been a long day with my kiddos and we had just picked up my husband from the airport so we wanted to dine out instead of having to make anything. I was craving Mexican and my husband found Tequila Mexican Restaurant was near us and family friendly. When they say family friendly, they were not kidding. I had a total mom fail and didn’t think about my 2 month old being cranky after getting shots today. When we finished ordering, the tears started and when I finally settled him, our food came. The woman greeting customers came and asked if she could hold him so that I could eat while my husband tackled our toddler. You guys! She held, rocked, and even offered to feed him so that we could eat. The customer service was well beyond exceptional and I will forever remember the woman who helped us! Also, their food and margaritas were delicious!!! Give them your service, they deserve it!!!

Been craving taco salad it was a toss up Taco John's (wet lettuce salad) or try a real Mexican restaurant so I went with real.
This was a typical taco salad for $8.99 medium-ish bowl it was ok it filled me up.
Eager to try more items in the future

Parking: Very small parking lot slots face Easton and E 29th Street small cars may have no issues but big trucks may have difficulty

My family had a group of 12 for a birthday party. Friendly staff great service and the food was amazing! They even brought out plates and forks for the cake. Definitely recommend!!

The food was so good chimichangas and chicken fajitas came to the table hot and fresh “BUSSIN”. The queso and salsa was really good as well.

Excellent service, fast, professional, reliable, and the freshest food around. Drinks are exceptional. Try the Cadillac Margarita, it’s delicious! Best carnitas street tacos in Iowa. You won’t find another authentic Mexican restaurant around here. Absolutely amazing food.

I have been going to Tequilas for at least 16 years, and the food has been fantastic EVERY TIME! May the owner is wonderful and is like family now. Highly recommend!
