I will start by saying I am a self proclaimed “picky eater”. I don't like trying new places or new food. As a result, I don't usually leave reviews or have strong feelings about restaurants. This, however, is a place that I really feel I need to talk about….
We live 2 hrs away and this restaurant is constantly on our mind. Whenever we make a trip to, or near, Des Moines, we make a point to stop at our favorite restaurant. We will drive out of our way to make sure the Green Olive is always part of our visits. Ordering “to-go” to bring back home is a regular occurrence!
Personally its always very intimidating to try a new place, and I was reluctant at first. Now we are planning our trips around making sure we can stop here!
I always get their Beef Kabobs. And omg the Feta Fries? We were practically fighting over them 💜. My partner loves the lamb! The man who can eat everything, always leaves feeling full. We both do. This is a family restaurant you cannot miss. I cannot say enough good things, my only complaint is that they are not closer to home! But that's not a deal‐breaker for us, this place is worth the trip, EVERY TIME.

The food was amazing and the staff very helpful and friendly. The prices are very reasonable. It's a restaurant in a strip mall so I wasn't expecting a fancy atmosphere. It was clean and comfortable. There is not space for larger groups. We WILL be going back!

One thing that I wanna mention about this place is the prices. You're getting authentic Mediterranean style cuisine for the most affordable prices you can find in most restaurants nowadays. I ordered three different things for myself. My son ordered a few things and we got dessert. the portions are huge. We had to take most of it home and it was only $64. Everything was just exquisite full of flavor, fresh and authentic. I will be back!
