Food is really good, portions are generous, price is reasonable, and I personally enjoy the “no-frills” mom & pop vibe to a fake attempt at creating atmosphere. It’s a little slow because everything is made to order. They also have a real changing table in the bathroom, something I appreciate as a parent. A great place! Whatever the secret green sauce is, it’s delicious.

Very large portions, had leftovers for days! Great food, friendly helpful staff, we will definitely go back and at least pick up takeout, if we don't dine in. They are opening a second location in West Des Moines! Try the Jalapeño salsa, delicious.
The Green Olive has the best Mediterranean food in the whole Des Moines area! Their chicken schwarma is my favorite meal to order, but today we tried a #19 to try one of everything. Everything was perfect. The fluffy garlic sauce is so incredible, the chicken kabob was seasoned so wonderfully, and we can't wait to come back.
Great Mediterranean food! We have enjoyed everything we have eaten during three recent visits. Service has been prompt and cheerful. Highly recommended. This place has quickly become a new favorite.

We went here bc of reviews on a social media foodie site. We dined in, but wish we had taken it home. The food was okay, just your average Mediterranean food, cooked by Hispanic people, not Greek. The steak kebab was very chewy. The chicken kebab is very bland, and you could taste the grill. The falafel was not good, or the stuffed grape leaves. The rice and gyro meat were VERY dry and cold. The tzatziki sauce in the condiment cup was horrible! They should have used what they put on the lettuce instead. The service was a long wait and odd. Even more odd that they had different family members in and out of the kitchen, eating there, etc. Something that shouldn't be allowed. All in all, it is average food that wasn't seasoned very well. We had better Mediterranean food at Open Sesame & Opa! We will never trust the opinions of others who obviously do not know good food.
