The owners did a great job remodeling this place and changing the atmosphere to make it a safe and fun place to hang out with all of the football games you want to watch. A majority of the bartenders are great besides the older guy with the beard and long hair. Myself and friends avoid coming here during his shifts but we decided to stop by this week to give him another chance but quickly regretted it. The place seems like a house party when he’s working, he doesn’t give any customers attention or service but will only help what seems to be his friends. Overall the place is great and all the other bartenders and employee are professional, friendly and attentive so we will continue to come on days where he is not working.

Bartender named Charlie took over 20 minutes to take my order as he was too busy chatting with friends (there was maybe 10 people in the whole place most of which were on the patio) when he finally came over he was rude and short with me. I sat at the bartop for close to an hour and watch him interact with friends kissing one over the bar, and blatantly disregarding and ignoring the non regulars i.e. ME . I normally like being left alone but to be blatantly ignored to take 25 min to get a drink at a bartop on a very slow evening, to be talked down to like i was beneath him-- ? Not okay. I remember when this place was extra innings and I thought this place was under new ownership accepting new people but it's the same old scene. Bartender looks like a 60 year old hippie/wangster that wears sunglasses at night that is desperately seeking the popularity he never received in high school. He was showing off the crown tattoo on his hand saying this is HIS bar. Dude is on a power trip over a dive bar in the bottoms that I happen to know does not belong to him. Weird flex. Terrible vibes.

After a stunning renovation, Triple Crown has become a must-visit bar on the Southside of Des Moines. It has a good drink selection, attentive staff and an overall welcoming, fun atmosphere. I recently rented out the bar for a joint birthday party and it was very affordable and Charlie, our bartender, provided great service, ensuring everyone has a great time. I highly recommend checking it out!

Goldie is in charge. he doesn't have the sack to do anything other than talk but he can't really speak for himself without others protecting him.
