First time trying the food at this restaurant. Was trying to find a good Italian restaurant. I had a hot Italian sausage sandwich with a side salad. Came with bread rolls and they were kinda hard. The sandwich bread was kinda hard. The filling was was very tasty and filling. Service was very good and polite. The portions were very good and price low.

I wish I had found this restaurant sooner! The vibe is very warm and comforting and the food is really solid! The ravioli and manicotti are always cooked perfectly but I've found that the penne is usually a bit overcooked. I really appreciate the bottle of olive oil on each table because nothing goes better with warm bread. The drinks are a little all over the place (my Cosmopolitan was clear and just tasted like vodka with a cherry in it) but the wines are always great. I also find it so charming and cute that photos of family members are everywhere in the dining room. It's obvious that a lot of love and passion has gone into this restaurant and I can't wait to go back!

We hired Tumea’s to cater our wedding and could not be more satisfied with the result. Their legendary food has long been a staple in Des Moines and I promise you it’s just as good when you order it catered for 150 people. Their staff was amazing and served the entire party without a single hitch. Can’t recommend these guys enough for your special day.

Came here with a group. I’d heard good things, so I was excited. I ordered the shrimp scampi, which in the picture on the menu came with 6 jumbo shrimp that filled the platter they were pictured on. I got six ridiculously small shrimp. I so wish I would have taken a picture. I’m talking salad/soup shrimp. Not $22 entree shrimp. Not only were they way smaller than advertised but they were so overcooked they were like rubber. I ate 2 (because I was starving), and let my wife and mother in law each try one to see if I was crazy. They agreed it was a pretty pathetic dish. I considered sending it back after the first shrimp and just sharing my wife’s meal (it was enough for both of us), but we were with a group and I didn’t want to be “that guy.” The experience might have been better had I ordered something else, so I guess my advise is avoid the entrees with shrimp!
