I had a few hours before my flight so I checked this place out and was very impressed with their inventory. The building is also great to explore.

Ordered a cappuccino and a chai latte to go.Didn’t realize this place is a treasure cove! There are multiple floors of vintage baubles. It was so dreamy I got lost in time in awe of their collection. Doesn’t hurt the coffee hit the spot! A must try.

This was a really fun visit and I am glad we stopped in during our weekend trip to Des Moines. There are multiple floors or every vintage, antique, weird, fun, and everything in between here. There is even a coffee shop (we did not get anything though). We really loved walking through here and seeing some old things that we've never came across at any vintage/antique store. You can tell that the person collecting all of this has put a ton of time and effort into bringing all of it into this building. My only complaint was the pricing on everything. In my opinion, and based on numerous other similar stores we've been to, everything was very marked up. Now, I understand most of it is valid and really is worth that, but some items were kind of outrageous. Overall, West End is a super cool store to visit and worth it even if you just window shop. I am sure we will come back and see what new stuff is here when we visit Des Moines again.

Very much enjoyed exploring at this place. Wish I would have had more time. Lots of really fun things to see. Grab a coffee on the main floor then peruse the more than four floors of a variety of things. You might find yourself a new treasure to take home.

This place was okay. Had large pieces and a few “trinket” sized items. I did enjoy a raspberry white iced latte. They offer a cocktails too.

We found West End Architectural Salvage on Atlas Obscura, and are so glad we went inside! 4 stories of amazing furniture, metalwork, stained glass, and much more kept us browsing for over an hour. Many salvaged items were creatively repurposed into unique decor and jewelry. The building itself added flavor with its high windows and natural lighting--great for photos! The coffee bar was reasonably priced and carried a variety of drink options. Finally, the staff were friendly and happy to talk about items on offer. We thoroughly enjoyed the visit!

Just got back from my first visit. My neighbor works here. First of all, I had no idea this place was also a bar/ coffee shop. Caught me completely off guard. I had actually gone to look for a old large metal or neon sign for my loft downtown. Ended up having a nice Belgian Ale. Started to look around but ran out of time, as they were about to close. The place is quite large with tables and bathrooms throughout. To sum it up I will definitely be going back when I have more time. Kinda a unique idea for a business.

I was in Des Moines on a quick weekend trip and wandered into this amazing gem! There is a coffee shop in the first floor and so many stories to explore.

Des Moines advertising all these jankass spots and not this is wild. Epic place. You should just come in and walk around. Beautifully done. And awesome workers. But it’s a shame more businesses don’t just sell the beauty of their older buildings. On top of that they have a baller coffee bar. Idk they sold me. I’ll be coming back.

This was one of the highlights of my trip to Des Moines! Loved all the good stuff here and I bought some fun things. The people are so nice. I love the coffee shop in front where you can get beer, wine, coffee, all so you can sip and stroll and just enjoy browsing. Loved it and I wish we had something like this in my town.
