Food was good, service was slow, and the second draft beer didn't taste like the first.

When 1st and Main hits on all cylinders, it’s one of the best spots in Dubuque to eat, however they are not consistent. That being said, the mango habanero chicken flatbread is one of my favorite bites to eat in Dubuque! The sidewinders fries (I prefer the garlic Parmesan option) are also great.

Service tends to be the most spotty here: my partner and myself have had a excellent service, and we’ve had instances where our server is just sitting on their phone at the end of the bar near the kitchen. We’ve also had servers that went above and beyond to accommodate us for a birthday as well.

Always an option in Dubuque that’s worth a fair shake!

Very tasty! Ordered a mushroom burger and a Big Groove amber. Perfect!! Best fries ever and unlike any I have ever had. Curly but thick and well seasoned.

Place was nice and relaxing. The guy bartender seemed a little rude or he was a little tipsy not sure, but other than that seemed like an okay place

We stumbled into this adorable downtown restaurant on our way through Dubuque on a Sunday evening. It was open, close to the highway and the menu looked yummy. It was easy to find parking on a Sunday night, walked right in and sat down right away - it was about 6:45pm. There were a handful of other guests already enjoying dinner. My niece is gluten, diary and peanut free and she was able to find several options for dinner. There were 7 of us - everyone's dinner was just a little different - like we were enjoying something special. Between us all, we had burgers, tacos, burritos, and fried chicken. The waitress was pleasant and engaging, food came quick and was very tasty. We were in and out, and on our way in about an hour. We will definitely stop again when we come back through!

Food is great! The wait staff has been great except once when I first went there I asked the waitress about food for my son with food allergies. She said she didn't feel comfortable making the decision about what was in the food. I asked her to ask the cook. She did and came back and said she still didn't feel comfortable. I asked to speak to the cook and she said he didn't speak very good English. It's hard to believe there are still some restaurants that can't identify what is in their food. But, on future visits, we got it sorted with other wait staff and now we go there frequently. Great food, clean place, good drink choices, quiet if you go on the non-bar side.

Was visiting from out of town (Des Moines) and decided to try this restaurant on 5/8/25 around 4:45 to 5:30 PM. The restaurant was not busy and we were waited on by Deontiz. The service started out decent but went down hill quickly. We place our drink orders, which was being made at the bar. Only two people at the bar and the bartender was to busy talking to two other men at the bar. It seemed to take at least two drinks which were Watermelon Mule and Blackberry Margarita. We should have had our drinks much quicker but the bartender was to busy speaking to the male customers in front of him. We got our food which was Bourbon Glazed Atlantic Salmon and Build Your Own Pasta with Chicken. The food was good but Deonitz never asked us how our food was. She stood over at the bar and talked to the other employees which were to other ladies and the bartender. Once she came around, we were already done with eating our food. Instead of asking us if we wanted separate bills, she drops off one bill and walks off. Just because two men walk in together, doesn't mean they are together and only one person is paying. Ask the customer if the bill is on one or sperate. She was to lazy to ask and assumed that one of us would pay the entire bill. I have attached the bill to this review and at the bottom of the receipt, it states the following, "There will be a 3.99% convenience fee applied to all credit card transactions." My friend paid with a debit card, which is not a credit card, and was charged a pathetic fee. The restaurant needs to change the verbiage at the bottom of the receipt to indicate that ALL cards will receive a 3.99% fee as they lie to customers. Deonitz made to much money off of us and she was not worth $5.00 from a $79.00 bill. She needs to be trained on customer service skills and the restaurant needs to start focusing on putting the correct language on the bottom of their receipts about 3.99% extra charges. I liked the food but will not go back!
