Found this winery on Google and so glad we did. Aaron was a great host, full of knowledge, humor and good conversation. It was so nice to find a Midwest winery that wasn't loaded with too sweet and fruity wine wannabes. The dry reds were amazing and my favorite. Overall the wines were flavorful and they didn't all taste alike. Something for every palette. It was a fun stop in our mini road trip. And we left with several bottles to tide us over until we come back.

Great place to relax and enjoy wine with friends. Been coming here for years, the fruity wines are new but very good. The petite Pearl is always among the best in the world.

My husband and I had a great time at Barrel Head this weekend! The owner, Aaron, is very personable and talked with us our entire tasting. He’s very knowledgeable, and the wine itself is top tier and well-crafted. This winery continues to be one of our favorites. Definitely try the Black Cherry dessert wine when you go—you’ll be blown away! We’d give Barrel Head six stars if we could!!
Absolutely love this Winery! Fantastic wine with great owners!

My husband and I were out in Dubuque enjoying corn mazes and apple cider doughnuts and did a little search for wineries and stumbled upon Barrelhead. What a great tasting. 5 generous pours for $5 at the time of this posting. I like dry but more complex reds and was not disappointed. We aren't huge drinkers but still left with 6 bottles since there were several good wines.Aaron was friendly and knowledgeable and I am so happy we stopped in. I'm sure we will be back when we head out there from Chicago again.

The Barrel Head Winery in Dubuque Iowa is a great establishment run by Aaron and Jodie. They are very knowledgeable on their wines and they are very personal. Midwest down to earth host. I strongly suggest visiting this winery. BTW, the chocolate is a bonus.
Great wine and fantastic people!
