Would give it zero stars if possible. Food was awful. Couldn't find the wait staff.... its convenient if you're staying at the Holiday Inn, that's about where the good thi is end.....

Convenient if you stay at the Holiday Inn and don’t want to venture out. It stops there …
I had to go up to the bar twice to get my drinks and order food. They told me it was ok to change chicken for salmon on my salad and still charged me extra. The irony was that I paid for the added salmon but they removed the chicken from the original dish. Everything is way under seasoned and tasteless. 0% chance of coming back.

Do yourself a favor and don't eat here. The food was sooo greasy, and the fries were not prepared the way I requested. It's sad that in this economy this is the piss poor service you get when these people should be grateful that you choose to eat at their spot over so many others, but lesson learned. I spent seventy dollars on lard.

Stopped in for lunch and had the sliders, which were excellent! Service and food, provided by Amber and Tammy, were exemplary!

Two-Star Review: Flavor Famine at the Hotel Bistro

If you’re looking for a restaurant experience that’s more lukewarm than well-done, this might just be the place for you. Nestled inside a hotel, it seems they’ve taken the “limited service” concept to heart—because they had exactly one server trying to do it all: bartender, waitress, hostess, you name it. Props to her, though, for sprinting from table to table like she was training for the Olympics. It’s a pity the rest of the experience didn’t match her hustle.

Now, let’s talk about the food—or as I like to call it, “The Great Flavor Disappearance Act.” My wife’s sirloin steak was so under-seasoned it made plain boiled pasta look like a Michelin-starred dish. Salt and pepper must have taken the night off, and sadly, they didn’t leave a forwarding address.

As for my meal, the chicken tenders, fries, and coleslaw trio were playing a symphony of blandness. The fries could’ve used a good shake with the salt shaker, and the coleslaw—let’s just say it had a surprise jalapeño cameo, but even that fiery pepper couldn’t wake it up. It desperately needed a splash of vinegar and a dash of sugar to turn the snooze fest around.

To be fair, they did whip up a honey mustard sauce that was so good it almost made me forget about the rest of the meal. Almost. If only the rest of the menu had followed suit.

In conclusion, if you like your dining experience with a side of suspense (will there be enough staff? Will the food have flavor?), then go ahead and roll the dice here. Otherwise, you might be better off ordering room service. At least you know what you’re getting: blandness delivered straight to your door.

Thank you for the wonderful supper last night! Our server, Caroline was super nice and attentive. Jason, the manager was awesome and very hard working. The restaurant was clean and busy but we felt very private in our booth. We could see the outside firepit from our booth too! The mozzarella cheese sticks are amazing! We had the Monte Cristo and Classic Burger which were hot, delicious, and very generous sized. The fries were hot and delicious! I left a longer review under River Rock Kitchen since they are the same place. Looking forward to going back soon!

Tried this restaurant for the first time last night and unfortunately I can’t imagine we will go back. Wait staff was quiet and a bit cold and our meals were not great. Shrimp was cold and the bun seemed stale. Our appetizer did not come which wasn’t the worst thing, but we were just told they forgot to make it and it would be taken off our bill - no apology or offer to still make it which we would have waited for it. When the food came out the other server assisting with the delivery just stood in silence until my husband grabbed the plates to hand them out and she then responded with “I just clocked in, so I don’t know what going on”. Overall just not impressed :(

Coleslaw was old, like sour old, shrimp sucked, ribs were good, but I ordered a full rack and got a half either Doordash or Bennigans messed that up. Wound up tossing most my order.Gunna stay true to 7hills

A friend and I went here, were seated, received our drinks, placed our orders, and then were ignored for 25+ minutes while our glasses sat empty and never saw or heard from our server again. I could almost understand this if the place had been packed, but it wasn't even half full.

Passing through Dubuque on 619/22 and was searching for a quick bite to eat at a place we have not eaten before. This place came up and so glad that we found it. It's inside the Holiday Inn hotel.Lots of parking in and around the hotel area. They have an outdoor patio area so based on the amazing whether we decided to sit outside. Menu has a lot of items to pick from however it's not overly crowded so every on the menu is high quality food. I ordered the club sandwich that was recommended by Amber our server. My wife ordered the grilled crispy chicken sandwich and the both of us had hand-cut french fries as a side that were fantastic.Wife and I were saying that the food was amazing. I don't know if we were just really hungry but I know that we will stop back again to try the burger and the salmon that both looked really good on the menu and I would highly recommend anyone reading this ask for Amber as your server Who provided amazing customer service and was super friendly and helpful.Overall five stars for service, friendliness, wait time, food portions and quality, convenience, and cleanliness.

I've been staying at the Holiday inn about 8 weeks out of the year for the last 3 years. Idk what changed, but since it switched from River Rock to Bennigans, the quality of the food has gone down hill. I went from eating there every night we stayed to maybe once per trip of I'm too lazy to get out and about. Chicken was dry and flavorless and the cheesecake was frozen solid.
