We were four seniors at dinner and two with hearing aids. While the food was great the noise level made it impossible to converse and one got pretty nervous and agitated and he cancelled dessert to just get out. So sorry to say while we really enjoyed dining outside during the summer we will not be inside again this winter. Thank you for your understanding however
Great atmosphere, a little too noisy to even be able to hear conversation at our table. Our waiter was clueless about the menu and what "gluten free" means, offering to sub something for the mashed potatoes on one of the dishes. Great food and drinks, really nice ambiance.
The food, drinks, and dessert were fantastic. Zach our server was wonderful. I ordered Duck and wife ordered the spare rib special. Both were cooked to perfection. The appetizers were amazing as were the desserts. Wexwill definitely return.

A very cool spot with a nightclub feel. Food was fantastic and the server (Eric) was friendly and helpful.

My friend and I absolutely loved this newish place in the Historic Millwork District in Dubuque, Iowa. The French born owner’s long history in the Restaraunt and bar biz is evident in every bite at this vibrant place. The attention to the medley of flavors in the sauces and homemade pastas and interesting dishes makes it extraordinary. The crème brûlée in 3 flavors was fantastic. I’d highly recommend this place and come hungry because the portions are Dubuque size vs Paris size, and like me, you may want to lick your plate clean. Additionally, the staff was excellent and the place very clean and fresh.

Excellent restaurant, atmosphere, and food / drinks. Manager Max is amazing. A few critique's I will give as a server myself is too many interactions and interruptions. Would have also appreciated a hint at the drink special with the receipt ordering drinks long after dinner. Final comment is let the experience allow for reviews organically. Begging for a 5 star review is not what I expect after putting a few hundred dollars in the book. The experience alone should be enough to motivate me. Overall though excellent.

My husband and I held our wedding reception at Bread & Vine Dubuque. Our interactions with the venue were consistently frustrating and emotionally taxing, necessitating intervention from our other wedding vendors to compensate for the level of disorganization, lack of professionalism, and inadequate communication.Initially, we reserved our wedding date in the winter of 2021 when the establishment was known as the Driftless. Over time, it underwent rebranding, becoming the Magnolia and then becoming affiliated with Bread and Vine Dubuque. Despite being reassured that the changes would not affect our event, we had to dispute multiple attempts to breach the catering and comprehensive buyout sections of our contract. As we approached our wedding date, we followed up when the Magnolia staff did not schedule a one-month meeting as promised. Bread & Vine staff responded to our email and only after being directly asked several times confirmed that “Bread & Vine has taken over Magnolia” and that our previous contacts were no longer associated with the venue. This change had not been communicated to us at all.The frustrations above could be blamed on previous management and we were willing to give the Bread & Vine team the benefit of the doubt. When we finally connected, they repeatedly assured us that they wanted to work together to honor our previously agreements. Unfortunately, when it came time to live up to those assurances, Bread & Vine did not deliver.First, we learned that tables of the size we’d been told were available no longer were. Within weeks of the wedding, we had to rent additional tables at our own cost. After assuring us that tables & chairs could be removed from the restaurant space to restore it to a closer approximation of the open bar that it was when we booked the venue, it required several emails and a phone call the weekend of our wedding to get Bread & Vine staff to move tables they said they would. The climax of our frustrations occurred at 4:00pm the day before our wedding when our caterer arrived at Bread and Vine Dubuque and was informed that he could not use the kitchen space. This caterer had utilized this kitchen multiple times previously. Our caterer went above and beyond, bringing a food truck from Cedar Rapids overnight and catering the entire wedding from outside in the parking lot. We understand that with new management may come new policies, however such policies should be communicated. To withhold information about a policy change until the night before our wedding despite a full rental buyout that included the right to use an outside caterer and verbal promises that the change in management would not negatively impact our wedding day resulted in unneeded financial and emotional hardship. Even something as simple as acknowledgement of the stress the situation caused or an apology for the miscommunication would have gone a long way. We received neither. The night of our wedding, Bread & Vine staff did not bus empty drinkware. Another vendor took it upon herself to stay late and do, despite it not being part of her responsibilities.Even accounting for the venue’s history of staffing and ownership changes, it is disappointing that Bread & Vine consistently fell short any time they had the opportunity to remedy our experience. To those considering entering a contract with this establishment, exercise caution. Insist on written communication for all promises and arrangements, as in our experience face-to-face and verbal assurances carried little weight. It is likely that Bread & Vine management will blame our experiences on previous owners/management, but our story should serve as a cautionary tale. When you’re planning a large event like a wedding, something unexpected will almost always happen. We certainly couldn’t control any of the changes at the Driftless/Magnolia/Bread & Vine. How vendors problem-solve and treat you when the unexpected happens is an indicator of their integrity. You and your wedding day deserve better than the treatment we receive
Absolutely amazing atmosphere, great energy from the staff and a very creative cocktail menu. I had a drink served to me in a disco ball which was a great touch. Food was perfect. 10/10 experience and I couldn’t recommend it enough to anyone looking to have a fun night in Dubuque.

The staff there is very personable. We had asked our waiter on suggestions for drinks. Even though the other half of our table was talking and didn't hear his recommendations the first time, he didn't complain when the other half asked him a second time. I do suggest to eat here and try their Pink Panther. Very good and you won't be disappointed either while they make the drink in front of you.
