If you want BURNT food but RAW fish this is the place for you! If you are served this poor quality experience only to be handed a $93 tab, this is the place for you. If you want a Mgr who lacks customer service who would acknowledge the burnt burgers (black) and over cooked filet (brown and dry) with raw shrimp (clear) but you are the problem definitely come to this hotel restaurant, Caroline’s. Our server never checked on us but offered us boxes to go for our burnt dinner we didn’t eat after we sat for almost 20 minutes as no one checked on us 💯 come here.
Horrible food, horrible service and an even more horrible experience for a 70th birthday!!
Staffing issues, clearly not a, “chef,” as even the mashed potatoes were dry like sand.
They are not open to feedback nor enhancing an experience. Defensive and 5/5 dinners SUCKED!
My husband and I enjoyed date night at Caroline’s! We shared the Mediterranean Mezza Platter and loved it! Steak was cooked perfectly and the beet salad was delicious! Our first time there. We will be returning!

Unfortunately, Caroline’s has gone downhill severely over the years. Twice now our orders have been messed up. First time no au jus with the French dip. Second time no thousand island on the Reuben. It’s like they insist on serving me a dry sandwich. Called to talk to a manager and was left on hold. Won’t be going back.
Brunch at Caroline’s was such a treat and a hidden gem in Dubuque! The food was incredible and the only thing to rival it was the attentive service provided by our server Holly! We enjoyed the candied bacon and chili to start as well as the main dishes (banana French toast and eggs Benedict). Could not recommend this cozy, old time vibe restaurant more! Thank you Holly and the chefs at Caroline’s for making this one of our go-to brunch spots!

We had lunch today at Caroline's to celebrate our anniversary. Jason was our waiter and he done an excellent job. He was both professional and personable. And our lunch was excellent and we will go back again.
Great place to eat but can be expensive.

We had a wonderful meal here on a late Sunday morning/early afternoon. We called that morning as a group of 8 and were so pleasantly surprised to be seated in a beautiful semi-private room. The atmosphere made my out of town guest feel so special. Our server did a great job with our group and was kind and efficient. The menu had a variety of items that felt thoughtful - not overwhelming and trying to fit in too many things. Our meals were well prepared and everything seemed very fresh. We will definitely be adding this into our rotation and recommend to everyone!

He has improved some used to be servers that weren’t really clean looking, but the last time I went there, everything was good

If you are hungry, avoid Carolyn's. We waited 30 mins just to get coffee!

When we called just now we were informed that there were no vegan dinner options. It looked like there were some salads that could have dairy removed but they didn’t even suggest it.
We have tried Caroline's twice and both times they got our to-go order wrong. The first time we ordered a breakfast sandwich with sausage on a croissant and checked the order once we got to the car because the bag felt a bit light. We had received only a croissant - no egg, no sausage, no cheese. Just a plain, heated-up croissant. Staff was apologetic but then couldn't remember who to give the fixed order to. Second time we went we ordered a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit with bacon and received the order on a croissant with no meat. Given the wait, not sure we'll be back.
The setting was in a hotel, however, it was lovely. We started with the appetizer of cheese, hummus, baba gonush and pita triangles. Delicious and filling. We shared a Paradise Salad also delicious. We shared the pasta with scallops and shrimp, Vodka sauce delectable. The service was excellent, Alyessah (sp). Thank you chef for making a wonderful dinner experience.
