We had lunch today at Caroline's to celebrate our anniversary. Jason was our waiter and he done an excellent job. He was both professional and personable. And our lunch was excellent and we will go back again.

When we called just now we were informed that there were no vegan dinner options. It looked like there were some salads that could have dairy removed but they didn’t even suggest it.

We have tried Caroline's twice and both times they got our to-go order wrong. The first time we ordered a breakfast sandwich with sausage on a croissant and checked the order once we got to the car because the bag felt a bit light. We had received only a croissant - no egg, no sausage, no cheese. Just a plain, heated-up croissant. Staff was apologetic but then couldn't remember who to give the fixed order to. Second time we went we ordered a breakfast sandwich on a biscuit with bacon and received the order on a croissant with no meat. Given the wait, not sure we'll be back.

The setting was in a hotel, however, it was lovely. We started with the appetizer of cheese, hummus, baba gonush and pita triangles. Delicious and filling. We shared a Paradise Salad also delicious. We shared the pasta with scallops and shrimp, Vodka sauce delectable. The service was excellent, Alyessah (sp). Thank you chef for making a wonderful dinner experience.

Neither of us left a thing behind on our plates (even though they gave us plenty of food!). It was delicious. Service was friendly, quick, and error-free. I would love to visit again if in the area.

Quite a lovely place for meals. Very impressed. Will definitely B making return visits. So menu ALL looked and sounded delicious. Had an extremely hard time making up my mind on what to eventually choose. Absolutely was not disappointed in anything whatsoever. The restaurant itself is very comfortable and inviting. Instantly felt at home and at ease. Definitely a place 2 just sit back and enjoy it all. No ridiculous and off-putting hustle and bustle. No screaming kids, no kids running around or under your table or feet. Loved that part in particular. Some times U get what U pay for. The service was excellent 👌 👏 The food magnificent. The entire experience was 10/10

I stayed at the hotel for work and decided to go down to Caroline's for dinner. I went around 7:45 pm and had a very underwhelming experience. Although my server was friendly, it seemed like everyone was overwhelmed (although there were only a few other tables seated around me). It took 15-20 minutes to get my first drink, which was a little disappointing. And the food was just ok. Prices seem a little steep for how basic the recipes tasted.

We stopped in for brunch during our stay at Hotel Julian (a gem) in Downtown Dubuque. Great $5 Bloody Mary's, beignets and breakfast. Our server, Holly was knowledgeable and helpful with the ordering - great service.

Nice local. Service very nice but in a hurry. Main course came 2 minutes after the starter. It was cleared and asked for dessert when a person was still eating. Food was good

Ambience: sophisticated and warm. Food: excellent and creative, with delightful spins on some classics, and some fine healthy choices. Our small group enjoyed Sunday brunch there; we ordered, respectively, the chorizo omelette, the veggi omelette, Eggs Benedict, and a zucchini quinoa bowl. All dishes were excellent, with generous portions. The cappuccinos brewed up by Caroline's superb barista/bartender and especially recommended by our server Holly, were over-the-top delicious. Holly is wonderful: attentive, prompt, helpful and very knowledgeable about the history of the hotel and restaurant. Be sure to ask for her table! This is a great spot for a quiet group, family gathering, or intimate dining experience.

It may not be a cheap restaurant, but the quality and taste of the dishes served are worth every penny to experience ecstasy of the palate. I don't know if every waiter is the same, but our waitress was very professional, energetic and nice. better food than in Chicago.

We have tried to get breakfast three different times. Went to use my gift card from the last mess up they did. We ordered 2 eggs Benedict with crispy hashbrowns paid over 32.00. This is what we got. Such a shame

We enjoyed a nice birthday lunch, with everyone happy with their food choice. The old hotel ambiance is very nice, but our server Jason merits five stars on his own. He was upbeat, thoughtful, and injected humor into our visit. We are so happy we celebrated here.
