Great dragon on Dodge is the best Chinese restaurant in Dubuque. The service is great, and the food is very fresh. I only wish that they would bring back their lunch buffet.

Was tired and saw this one was very near the hotel, so took a shot on it. It’s a small place, and the menu isn’t as big as many of the places offering American Chinese food. What I did have, the General Tso’s chicken, was about as good as any I’ve tried before. There was a huge portion too, and I brought the rest in a box and put it in a cooler which bailed me out after a much lesser dinner on the next night. Got two good meals out of here, so I can’t help but like it.

Great tasting Chinese food. We were able to drop in and place an order to go and our food was still hot when we got home. I'm a vegetarian and was able to pick from a couple of options. Staff was super friendly and helpful to answer my questions about ingredients.
Vegetarian options: There are options on the menu that appear to be vegetarian, but for me, I always ask questions about any new items I order to make sure there isn't any meat / chicken / fish stock used. I was able to find two options I loved and there was probably more I could have selected.
Parking: There is plenty of free parking in front of the restaurant.

Ordered crab Rangoon, egg roll, Dragon & Phoenix, Sesame Chicken. CR was good, egg roll was okay. D&P and Sesame Chicken were cooked well but both sauces were too sweet for our tastes. Huge portions. We ate in at the restaurant and the service was very good. While the sauce was sweeter than preferred I will go there again as the food tasted fresh and was cooked well.

Shrimp was very questionable.& Was not fresh or properly cleanedAlso ordered dumplings & they had a VERY funky smell.Please check the expiration dates on your seafood, everything had a very strong smell & my family couldn't even finish eating.$40 wasted
