We waited over an hour for our simple order at another restaurant. We were tired and discouraged when we walked in to House of China. The service here was fast, attentive and the food was great. What a wonderful contrast and a great way to end our Memorial Day Weekend. Next time my wife and I are in Dubuque, we will be back.

This used to be my favorite Chinese place. Something has happened between last summer and this spring. Everything is super oily. The chicken fried rice is super oily and gross I could not eat it. Really sad at what’s happened to this place.

Food was mediocre at best. I've had better frozen meals from the grocery store. Beef was tough like it had been stewing for hours. My waitress was a no personality zombie. Restaurant was clean. But I think they had the lights turned down for a reason.

We were there early and the front staff was very busy taking to go orders and we had to wait to be seated. Our waiter was attentive up until he put food on the table and we didn't see him again until he brought the check and that was the last we saw him

Don’t get shrimp mixed with anything else as there was three shrimp. Kind of a waste of money.

I've always loved their food but I just got a delivery order for which I paid over thirty dollars and it is inedible. Such a huge waste of money! Huge regrets.
The inside is awesome, it feels authentic. The food was ok. It came with really good soup and tea. We probably wont be back because the food was bland. I ordered broccoli chicken and he ordered spicy chicken and chicken chow mein. I thought the chicken chow mein was the best.

Been to a few Chinese restaurants and have never had the service that I get here. Their food is far superior to the other places that I have gone to. I will always return here. Best place in my book
All of the food here is heavenly, the portion sizes are massive. Ive been coming here since i was a kid and it's still just as wonderful as i remember. The complementary tea is a nice touch

I have been coming here since I was a kid and the food has had its ups and downs over the decades but I got delivery tonight and whoever cooked it must have come back from the 90’s/early 2000’s. It was exactly as good as it used to be.

The best Chinese restaurant I have ever been too. I live in Alabama and every time I come to Iowa it’s a must eat. I drive 15 hours just for those crab rangoons!!

Save your money and buy a can of La Choy and make it at home. Egg rolls are greasy and food is just not good. Very disappointed.
